I undertook my side of the employment agreement, and now I’m expected to carry your failures. I think there’s something insulting there, and I’ve spent enough time having people off-loading their problems on to me.
I would have written to the OP demanding full payment to my account, and then failing that, I would have submitted my case (P45, wage slips, and bank statements all sent) to the employment tribunal. I would then await their decision. If I’m still not paid, I would then apply for an order to allow the enforcement of the decision. I can then claim the cost of enforcing that judgment while the interest is allowed to accrue on the debt.
Agreed. The chap who was the apprentice still has bills etc and could end up with defaults because of non payment of wages so it really is a very serious situation.
Are there any assets at all that you could sell to raise the funds to pay the guy? I appreciate that you aren't trying to get out of it but in this instance you need to do everything you can to pay him what you owe him as quickly as possible.0
