MPPI - Yorkshire Building Society

The irony of course would be if the OP is suddenly sick or loses their job and can't pay off the mortgage due to lack of MPPI
The original OP ( who is still paying a mortgage) never returned to the thread.0 -
What is wrong with creating a new topic instead of dredging up a topic untouched for 10 months ??
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Maybe Nasqueron because from start to finish this has taken 6 months & I didn't realise everybody has to start a new thread to talk about themselves.
Just so know as MI said correctly I'm old school & something is only mis sold if it doesn't do what it's sold to do. In this case protect. Mis selling isn't just to make money.0 -
I didn't realise everybody has to start a new thread to talk about themselves.
What you did was akin to interrupting a conversation, and such behaviour quite often results in no responses at all.
You first hijacked this thread in November 2015, but it was started by another in January of that year.In future, please start your own threads to avoid confusion (and irritation).0 -

This is an existing thread started by someone else, your topic is completely different, hence it is forum etiquette to start a new topic for a new query as the old post can get mixed up with your own
All you've said on here is the MPPI was miss-sold, your provider agreed and refunded. I just found it amusing to get rid of a product that can save your home from being taken by the bank if you are unable to paySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

Of course, this just illustrates further why it's a bad idea to hi-jack a thread made by another poster.0 -
MI I have noted your comments re starting a thread & as you can see I fairly new so I apologise.
Maybe before you jump in & tell me how wrong I am Nasqueron you read what I said originally.
It's hilarious Nasqueron that my husband is still off work & his SSP doesn't cover his pension contribution & so the mortgage is being paid from savings but at least the compensation will pay the mortgage!0 -

With a hundred posts and two years on the forum , you can hardly claim to be "new".0 -
Sorry for dragging this thread up but my case was similar to the OP and settled without appeal after 6-7 weeks by Yorkshire. I read this thread originally and was put off by it, however decided to try anyway.
I had MPPI for Accident, Sickness and Redundancy, would pay mortgage for 12 months. The monthly costs then compared to what I see is available through the open market now looked significantly over the odds.
In my case at the time I was employed (and had proof of, although not requested) a generous sick and long term health scheme that would pay the majority of my salary for at least 12 months.
The policy was free for the first 6 months and was "sold" on the basis that I might as well take it as it was free, or words to that effect - of course statements were annual so i didn't see the charges until I'd paid for at least 6 months. Annoying at the time and it just got forgotten.
Used the Resolver service to send the complaint and they have accepted their service fell short blah blah blah, primarily because my employment benefits would have covered me and they agreed it was likely i took it out because it was free when in reality would have been of little use.
Hope this helps anyone else in this position as what i'd read of YBS on here wasnt very encouraging.0 -
Yorkshire are a bit of a soft touch. They seem to be paying out when many others would not.In my case at the time I was employed (and had proof of, although not requested) a generous sick and long term health scheme that would pay the majority of my salary for at least 12 months.
Great for loan PPI and credit card PPI. But for MPPI not so good. The FOS routinely decline MPPI complaints on people with those.
Banks are scattergun in their responses. Often paying out when you wouldnt expect them to or arguing a case that they really ought to be paying out on.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
