It's down to what you like but the Wiltshire meals I've seen were much nicer than the standard supermarket ready meals.0 -
Taste/quality aside, I find the calorie count argument strange as that information is on every other ready meal you can buy for a quid in a supermarket (and horse is very lean apparently).
Also, you can get apps like MyFitnessPal if you have a smartphone and want to make your own food. Simply put in the ingredients and weight and it will calculate it all for you. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Perhaps this should be in the food shopping section. Sorry for putting it in the wrong place. But thanks for your contributons :-)**Debt Free as of 15:55 on Friday 23rd March 2012**And I am staying that way

You're right. Even if you go for the convenience options, Tesco do similar things for cheaper**Debt Free as of 15:55 on Friday 23rd March 2012**And I am staying that way

My grandmother used to get these. The telephone service was excellent, even though she's almost completely deaf, and she praises the food to the heavens. She's nearly 90 and can't stand for long enough to cook, but used to be a good cook.
Then the delivery driver had a 10 minute yelling session at her when he was a day late delivering the meals. Needless to say, she doesn't get them anymore.I can't add up.0 -

When I read that, I was expecting a whole different thread"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Does anyone know how much they are, if they are any good meals and would you get this service assuming you are not old and infirm?
Yes. You don't have to be old and infirm to use Wiltshire farm foods or similar.
My granddad and grandma used these meals whilst he was terminally ill with a brain tumour and was unable to cook due to his condition, far less dangerous than him using a cooker or something with his condition.
Its also really handy for those that can't get out due to a short term injury/mental health problem wishing to eat balanced healthy ready meals.
Maybe your neighbour is suffering from an illness or health problem and feels a healthy diet is still important at a time she is maybe unable to cook or prepare food herself due to a physical health condition or lack of motivation due to something such as depression. Maybe she doesn't feel like she can ask friends and family to help or doesn't have anyone around that she can turn to to help with meal planning/food preparation.0
