Experian. Search errors and balance errors, why?

It sounds like it shows a search was conducted, not that you actually took out finance.

However if she is not listed as a financial associate on your credit files then this entry is incorrect and without your consent.
In which case report it to the credit reference agency and state that you did not give consent to a search and that you have not purchased anything from that company (that you paid a deposit for your partner is irrelevant and I wouldn't confuse things by mentioning it to them).

Checks made to support your actual credit applications leave the type of search footprint that can affect credit report.

Turns out this refers to an application that was not completed in full... hence the reason why I couldn't remember what it was.
