  • To not include delivery charges sounds like a "very" silly policy ;)

I bought something on a 12 month interest free basis last year from 'very' their website was advertising "nothing to pay for 12 months",

so I thought ok thats handy as I was also moving house at the time. So I went ahead and ordered what I had to order, then a month or so goes down the line , I get a call out the blue from "very" reminding me that my payments are late, I replied with " I thought it was interest free for 12 months and nothing to pay? they replied with " it is but the delivery is not part of the offer".There was no mention when I placed the order that I had to pay for delivery the following month. Had I known it would of been paid.

It was only £3 so I paid it over the phone. Logged on to Experian this evening and I am furious to see two late payment markers on my report has gone againts me over £3.All my accounts are up to date , my experian score for what it's worth is 995 (excellent) and the two late payment markers ruins it.

Over £3 bleeping quid , very has ruined my credit file. What can I do to get this removed.

If you had read your first statement as I did you would have seen the delivery charges are not part of the deal and is clearly shown.

OP, you did the right thing closing your account with Very. This exact same issue has been posted numerous times here, so this slime-ball of a company is obviously not worth dealing with. Yes, yes, yes, read the small print and remember to log on and read your statements as the holier-than-thou hand-ringing I-told-you-so brigade will never cease to tell you (see above, and below), but the policy of not including delivery in an offer like this is clearly confusing, and one might argue, is done on purpose just to be confusing.

Very, of course, used to be Littlewoods the catalogue company, and so an "early adopter" of credit reference agencies. I personally wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

This has happened so many times with Very that it might be worth contacting the Financial Conduct Authority and see what they have to say about it.

"All Financial Services products, selected items, delivery and installation charges, unless otherwise stated, are excluded from this offer, exclusions will be confirmed at the point of order."
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Why? Why would a business want to lose customers? Bad businesses lose customers. Very is a bad business by all accounts.

Sad attempt to have a go without reading the thread properly.

Very didn't lose out so why would they want rid of a customer that made them profit? They still made their profit which would have been factored in to the original price. Then they did the OP over with this daft charge.

Very are now losing out from any future business that they might have got.

I think you might be onto something here, it's far from clear.

Make a complaint on the basis you took what they were advertising at face value. Buy now pay 'nothing' for 12 months.

It seems they don't offer any such deal so it seems to be false advertising.

Almost as bad as the unlimited but not really unlimited internet packages.

Profit which diminishes with the amount of time required to service the customers needs after the sale.

Some customers aren't worth the trouble. Always been the same.
