My scenario was correct then. The order needed an "l" to denote the lounger option.

And I was correct too - the difference is very minor so would be easy for the OP to not notice.

So what do the nay-sayers have to say now? ;)

Ok guys no need to fall out. All I wanted was an indication of whether or not I had a leg to stand on or if I was fighting a losing battle. I am obviously aware that all replies are personal opinion and personal experiences, I just kind of wanted to know what you would do if this had happened to you. Never mind the signing of the document, that's in the past now and we need to move forward and deal with the current situation. To clarify (a v. Basic version):-
Me :- hey, I would like to buy that couch.
(A quick discussion about the sofa I wanted)
sA: can I interest you in the guardsman... Bla bla bla.
    Me:no
SA: ok miss, I'll go and print off the paper.
(Returns with paper work in one hand and cup of coffee in another)
SA: can I just show you how guardsman works. Look at the paper in this cup of coffee.
    Me: no thanks.
sA: ok. (Circles the colour of sofa I am ordering and the colour of the trim, nothing else, and asks me to initial it- I do)
We discuss payment and job done.
Sofa arrives a good few weeks later and it's not the one (the only one) I had discussed with SA. On investigating, the wrong couch has been ordered and it was a mistake that was made instore not by manufacturer.
Ok so reason I haven't replied is because I have been trying g to get this sorted before answering or replying to your posts. I have had many heated talks with store but only dealt with the SA who sold it to me (I say heated as I think the SA got as angry as me), and I can have the longer piece aslong as I pay additional cost (but remember the sofa I wanted and the sofa that was delivered were the same price). Spoke to customer services and they were very understanding and asked me to mail them so they had it in writing, however I have now emailed them 3 times and I couldn't even tell you if they have gone through as I've heard nothing. Tried calling head office but the are only open at the times I work and I have also sought legal advise. Going to try head office again on Monday.

What has the DFS rep on here advised you when you contacted them as requested?
  • I haven't managed to get through as of yet, trying again on Monday.
  • Did call as requested on this feed, said they would call me back, never did! Preston dfs store have called back and have offered me half price lounger at £150, this is now being taken into the hands of my solicitor.
