Car Insurance/Garage - Negligent?

If you overstate the severity of the problem, the garage could come back and claim that your lying (and they will probably try it), they only need find one point that's been over exaggerated and it'll prove their side of events.
For example, a single wire getting caught it the fan is not going to cause a multitude of faults. Multiple wires getting caught would stop the fan and blow it's fuse.
I'm not overstating anything, my knowledge of the issue has came from 2 garages independent to the garage who 'repaired' my car. I have 2 reports in black and white to back this up. Ur comment regarding don't trust the man in a suit is invalid as I most certainly do trust my husbands friend who carried out the first check for us and is a manager at a well known accident repair centre. This is who we asked to originally have repair the car but in order to get a courtesy car had to go with the insurance's approved repairer.0 -
It doesn't matter what the OP says, the Insurance company are in control.
It doesn't matter what I say in regards to what? Facts? Information told to me by industry professionals? I'm not making my own assumptions on the state of my car. It's there in black and white. Yes the insurance company may be in control of the repairs at the moment but they are not in control of my complaint. A letter has already been sent on my behalf by the FOS.0 -
You've had a crash.
Insurance-appointed garage 1 has a go, but fails to fix car properly. You complain.
Dealership report bad state of repair, get appointed by insurance company to carry out remedial work.
Who are you now complaining to and about what?0 -
OP yopur car is getting fixed by a dealer, they have all the tools they need and can order OEM parts to sort this out, don't worry, what the insurers do next with the first garage is now not an issue or your concern no longer, you complaint was taken seriously and is being dealt with in house now by insurers who probably wont inform you of any outcomes the decide against that first garage and what that first garage says about you will probably taken with a pinch of sault by the insurers.
Speculation here, BUT having been around a bodyshop for few years as my wifes uncle owns a insurer approved bodyshop, The insurers will now launch an investigation into possible fraud and quality standards breaches, they will also more than likely investigate their own insurance assessor in his role with the garage's he is assigned to in his area.
The possibilities and speculation here, in my knowledge is, the 1st garage had been paid for items NOT fitted to the vehicle, that was listed on the repair sheet, the labor time was inflated, and that paint supplies also over listed and inflated, and now the audi report has backed up these items as missing or not fitted.
After 4 weeks with breaks for holidays, the insurers will also be looking at the quality of repair, why was the paint miss matched? and things left so loose, missing and why was it sent out and signed off with airbag not connected.
The 1st garage could possibly loose the contract with this insurer (who if like admiral have sister companies will mean they cancel all contracts with those sister companies too), they will lose the money on this repair due to having it being repaired at another garage, they may also be pursued for fraud by the insurance company.
Things were tightened up when that large crash for cash and repair bill scam got discovered here in wales, they take things like this with more urgency and investigate things deeper when things come to light that don't seem right.
The wifes uncle has had several reviews of paper work and also has had his contract altered to correspond with the insurers updated practices.
honestly form now on stop worrying what 1st garage is going to do or say, as form the sounds of its their own fault as they didn't think youd complain or if you did they would get it back to charge the insurers once again for work that was supposed to have been but didn't and yes they effectively dobbed themselves in it as they wasn't expecting an escort back to audi they were going to take it back to the garage to do some work on it and then pass it to audi who would have discovered almost nothing wrong and made you look to be a picky difficult customer. relax now its getting done and sorted properly.0 -

My comment was in response to the quote from Strider I posted, not anything you have said.Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!0 -
Would you want to sue for reckless endangerment? That's your only other option.0

^^ This is what i'm talking about ^^
Anything over exaggerated could not only scupper any chances of further action, but also make you look quite foolish.
And IDGAF what anyone says, hardly anyone works their way into management these days, some ignorance, some arrogance, a big mouth and no sense is unfortunately all you need...... Especially within a sales focused business, like a car dealership.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If the Insurers have agreed to let Audi sort out the remaining problems with your vehicle, why are you going to take it to the FOS? Surely once your car has been repaired to an acceptable standard by Audi, you're back to where you are pre accident and that is the best you're going to get.0

I agree that that this would be excessive, however it is an option and the OP wanted options.0 -

Complaining to my insurance company, obviously I am their customer and have no direct business with garage 1. 8 weeks now since crash and a further 3-4 weeks at least before I'll have my car back, unacceptable in my opinion when it should have been fixed correctly in the first place.0
