Got caught last night at Tesco - end of aisle Pantene shampoos and conditioners, lots of varieties, half price £2.44. Picked up a conditioner, busy packing when it went through till, found when I got home it was £4.99 - more than double - so clearly excluded from offer. Why then were there lots of this type on the shelf? GRRRRR. Clearly if they had run out of the cheap ones they should have either removed the reduced sticker and clearly marked the actual price of this next to it, or else left a gap on the shelf.
I normally shop at Aldi these days, where this doesn't happen. Rant over.0 -

You have the right to take it back for refund, if still got the receipt.
What annoys me if a supermarket has an offer on a branded line, why does it not always contain every flavour?
Time at the CSD is wasted on customers going 'I bought these two NCG soups and I though they were BOGOF'. The cashier says 'Oh the chicken and sweetcorn and chilli ones are not on offer'. Those I know that work in Sainsburys and on the CSD know all this too well.
What happens with the fresh items, customers will not buy the non offer flavours and these will get reduced with YS. Though I have benefited from this as bought two NCG soups for 20p
If the supermarkets do put all the flavours on the offer, customers would be happy not wasting time at CSD, supermarkets will get more money. Win win. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Though puzzled as to why the 5% fat mince is £3.70.
Does anyone know which supermarket sells 5% mince cheaper? Aldi don't sell it
The best value I've found is £6.88 per kg in Asda but this price only applies to the 750g pack. Its more expensive for the 2x420g packs for £7 (£8.33 per kg) or the 250g packs (£10.00 per kg). My mental maths is good but I ended up getting my calculator out in the shop for this one!!:rotfl:0 -
read in the paper yesterday that pg t bags have less tea per bag but still charge the same price per pack!!! so even branded items are conning us.0

Yes I saw this, just recently I've been thinking of trying a different brand of tea as I can't seem to make a decent cup with my last box of PG.0

Asda again...
Picked up a bag of Jacobs Mini Cheddars off the reduced shelf, a 15-pack marked down from £4 to £2.60. Very well sellotaped so no way of checking how many were in it. I was half expecting one or two packs to be missing, but when I opened it there were only nine packs out of the 15. There was no indication on the outer bag that any were missing, so I had assumed that most, if not all, were there, and it was reduced because the outer bag was torn.
£4 for 15 = 26.6p each. £2.60 for 9 = 28.9p each. I wuz robbed
It's a car drive away so I'm not bothering to take them back, but this bit of bad publicity is my revenge, and a warning to others who might be tempted by their reductions!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

My local Lidl is notorious for putting a similar product next to the weekend offer. As with the high fat mince a week ago, 87p per 500g alongside with normal mince at £3 plus. Everything got mixed up in the end as customers checked and re-checked.0

Bogof_Babe wrote: »Be careful if you buy 'yellow stickered' items in Asda. Three times so far this year they have been scanned at the full price, because there is more than one barcode on the pack and only one has been covered over. The checkout operator doesn't notice the reduced sticker and scans the uncovered barcode, resulting in a trip to customer services to get a refund for the overcharge, which is a bit of a pain when you've paid by card.
So check your reduced items to make sure that all the original barcodes are covered over, or if not keep an eye on the item going through the scanner, and always check your receipt before you leave the shop - so annoying having to traipse back from the far end of the car park!
This has happened to me several times in Asda and I love it because you get a £2 gift card for being over charged.Slimming World at target0 -
