Same here purpleshoes, I've helped one member of this board before in real life - certainly didn't know that it was against the rules. Like you I've seen meet ups and read about marriages from people who've met on here. Confused!

Just read and found the bit where it says it's not allowed.

Edited to add, Ive just read a post a couple of minutes ago where someone has sent stuff to another user, posters clearly don't know, I assume because I bet not everyone reads the forum rules, I certainly hadn't. Ive only read the parts that relate to the be nice to other posters.

I didnt realise it was against the forum rules to exchange personal info, there have been a couple of couples who have got married through meeting on this website as it were and other people have met up, Ive seen posts on the boards arranging meet ups, saw one on this section of the forum.

Ive also seen people post very recently about sending other people stuff through the post they no longer wanted. I don't send stuff to people or speak to people off the boards but didn't know people weren't allowed.

Yea I arranged a meet up a few years ago, n there have been loads since:DHave also heard of a few relationships, marriages and mse babies:D

This is where fb comes into play. No rules saying you can't add someone to fb, and you can exchange information freely there:D

I'm a Board guide, so i was simply doffing my cap to the rule. The full rules are here

I posted a company director's name and address but it's gone, why?

Found them after you posted. But Ive seen a few people post over the last day, sending stuff to one another, seems a lot of people haven't read the rules and don't know.

  • You are all so lovely!

Apologies for the radio silence, but DD was taken into hospital last Thursday afternoon. She's been discharged with some ongoing care, but we all had a heck of a scare. Anyhow, that saved a couple of days eating, and on Monday, we spent £15.12 in Iceland.

    We got;

    4kg spuds
    A bag of mince
    A bag of chicken breasts
    Frozen peas
    Frozen broccoli
    Eggs
    A packet of tortilla wraps
    A bag of oats

With everything that went on, telling him how broke we were just didn't seem to be nearly as hard as it was the week before. Yes, he knew. But didn't say anything in case I felt like he was having a go at me.

He's cooked chilli, which turned into pasta with added peas, which turned into burritos last night. He's also made me breakfast (boiled egg) and I was bought lunch on my first day back at work by a colleague. Today, I took advantage of the new office regime of free fruit and had four clementines, a packet of marmite crisps chucked at me by a colleague as he walked in and about a gallon of black coffee.

Tonight, I made a sort of shepherds pie with mostly lentils, beans, oats and gravy granules, with a few depressed looking carrots and lots of mash. There's enough for him to have lunch tomorrow and I've frozen two meals' worth.

Can't remember the last time we carried bags of food home, or when you could open the fridge, freezer or cupboards and find anything in there. Mind you, the stuff I had in the cupboards has kept us going for quite a long time.

The next money (after bills) will be going on tomato puree, pasta, more kidney beans, more lentils and hopefully some fresh salady stuff. I miss it a lot, as I'd have leaves of various types, tomatoes, cucumber, carrot, celery, sweetcorn, kiwi/other fruit, olives, herbs and goat or sheep milk feta.

I think I'll also try and get some seeds for leaves and herbs. They can go on the windowsill until it gets warmer - and he says he remembers the first morning he stayed here, I made him a fruit salad using a nectarine, raspberries & cherries from the garden, topped with shreds of nasturtium petals, mint leaves and tiny pink wild geranium blossoms - apparently, he thought that was amazing, and it only cost the nectarine.

I've managed to sort out teaching a workshop over half term, so that will be a few more pounds coming in, hopefully, and he's set something similar up, none of which depends upon his current boss. They both might even bring in some private teaching in the long run, and my new boss is happy to put me forward for an external course which would qualify me to train other members of staff (at the correct rate) and I could take on outside work with the qualification, too. He's also interested in getting me paid for cover supervisor work, which, again, should be towards the higher end if the scale because I'm already qualified to teach from 15+. All of which would be fantastic in the long run.

In the meantime, things are tough - but, compared to what could have happened last Thursday when I sprinted into A&E with no idea what I was going to find - it'll be ok.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

This sounds awful but it's so good to hear that things are working out, I was only thinking about this thread a few hours ago and wondering how you were doing.

Hope everything is okay with your ongoing care situation too - you certainly sound like you deserve some relaxation at the end of all this.

From next Thursday aldi have various seed packets on cheaply, the mixed kind with four or six different varieties in an overarching pack like "herbs" or "English veg" xxx
