110% + 2mph is the starting point for action, so if the guidelines are followed then 34 is OK, 35 is not.

    You mean 10% + 2mph, I believe. Otherwise 64 in a 30 would be under the threshold.

Yes, "I know what you meant", but it's simple enough mathematics just to state clearly.

    Umm, no, 110% is correct. 110% of 30mph is 33mph, 110% above/ over/ on top of 30mph is 60mph.

So you could either say 110% of or 10% above, and mean the same thing and both be correct.
  • Technically you're right, Car 54, in saying 34 is OK & 35 is the guidance for issuing an FPN, the point I was aiming for though is that you'd need to be somewhere close to 40mph indicated on the speedo on most cars to hit trouble with a fixed camera or van & if you're travelling at nearly 40mph in a 30mph limit you've only got yourself to blame for the FPN, in my view anyway!

Thanks for all your comments, it's going to be a 'sit and wait' game.

But the above quote is wrong in both comments.

A fixed camera in the town nearby, clicks at and above 34 mph and I got done 3 years ago for doing 35 mph passing a van in a 30 zone.

How is it wrong? You were nicked at 35, which is in line with the guidelines.

How do you know it "clicks in" at 34?

The experts at pepipoo.com hear stories about people caught at 34, and ask for evidence, but we've yet to see a confirmed case.

No it doesn't. It says "served" within 14 days.

    You're right. I misread.
