Get connected avoid

Hi,
I upgraded my phone contract in December. I thought I was dealing with Orange/EE but it turned out to be a third party so the day the phone arrived I sent it back special delivery and confirmed delivered on the 19th December. I also phoned the company "get connected" to advise them of this. They have confirmed receipt of this.

But they are supposed to contact ee to cancel the contract. EE have stated no emails have been received and they cannot cancel the contract until Get connected contact them. I have spent the last few days going backwards and forwards between the two. My original phone/ number now doesn't work as the number migrated over on the 8th January.
I went into a ee shop today and they have done there best and even phoned get connected to state they have not received any emails from them and get connected stated they will not be sending any more.

What the bell am I supposed to do? On Get connected facebook page is full of comments about people in the same situation so tend to believe ee.

All I want to do is keep my number, have a phone I can use and get a new phone as mine original one is dying.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

My original phone/ number now doesn't work as the number migrated over on the 8th January.

So you sent it back and had it confirmed on the 19th of December, yet you then ported your number (to the phone you had sent back) on the 8th January? That's 3 weeks later.

    Why?

The number was migrated over by EE ( I presume), not me, i was using my phone up until the 8th Jan then all of a sudden it stopped working.

I hope I haven't lot the number as I use it for all our advertising.

Did the number actually port? Or was it just transferred to a new sim that was supplied by the company with the new phone?

You need to phone EE and ask what the current status of your account is, and if the number was just transferred to a new sim they should be able to issue a new sim which will get you back on line. If ordered before 3-4pm it's processed and posted out same day.

If you don't have another EE phone you can call them on 07953 966 250.

You might even be able to get a sim in person from an EE shop, worth phoning your local EE shop and asking.

So what has EE said when you phoned them about the status of your account?

  • They just say they cannot close the new upgrade contract with them and return my number to Orange until Get Connected issue them the instructions to do so, Get connected state they have done this 3 times. I have emailed just about everyone possible.
