Urgent dilemma

I would try independents first. travelodge/Premier Inn have fixed pricing and less likely to negotiate
that said, they often have £29 a night deals, so worth checking their pricing0 -
The best I can seem to find online at the moment is around £400 for 2 weeks, its at a holiday village bungalow.0
-
Have you tried https://www.holidaylettings.co.uk
Some deals from £16 night at the mo in Great Yarmouth.0 -
Dene hotel £288 for 14 nights starting on 24th jan, £280 at Anglia house, £248 glen villa.0
-
Two week foreign holiday would be cheaper - if taking the time offis possible.0
-
Try Fawlty Towers and Copperfields, both might be £20-25/night.0

I think I may start looking for properties that are available now with a view to getting the place sorted before then. I know it can vary with each company but how long does it usually take from viewing / applying to rent a property to actually moving into the place?
Many thanks0 -

Referencing/credit checks can be complete within days provided responses are in from previous landlord/employers etc come in. Then it's just a matter of whether the property is already vacant, or your waiting for another tenant to move out (and LL to do any repairs/decorating) in the interim period. If you need to move fast, just let the LA know and they can show you properties that will be available on the date you need to move."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
Thank you very much for the suggestions so far guys. I am looking into local holiday letting, I live near Great Yarmouth by the seafront so there is a few places. The best I can seem to find at the moment is around £450 for 2 weeks.
Do you think it's worth phoning up the local travel lodge / premier inn to see if they would do a deal on 2 weeks worth?
So many options.
1) Ask all her friends if she can kip on sofa or in spare room for 2 weeks
2) Ask you parents if she can kips in your room, and you'll kip on sofa
3) SpareRoom.co.uk, airB&B, YMCA, Youth Hostel Association, Google "Guesthouses in Great Yarmouth", Hotels.com, etap, days inns
Note that I contract 4 nights a week, and I spend first 3 or 4 weeks of any contact in B&B, and have found that £25 a night is about the cheapest, but I've stayed in very posh places midweek for 50 quid a night. Contact local Pubs which might have letting rooms too. Or go on a cheap holiday for 2 weeks0 -

I've just looked at a flat that is available on the 19th Jan, I'll give them a call tomorrow and see where that takes me. I've never rented before so there won't be a reference from a previous landlord. The employer reference may be a problem as I work for the NHS and I think they will be slow. I have easily enough for 3 x deposit + 3 months of rent and a guarantor if needed.
Fingers crossed x0
