Urgent dilemma

Hi there,
I've got a really urgent dilemma on my hands and any suggestions / help would be greatly appreciated.
Me and my partner are looking to rent our own place, the places we are looking at become available on the 5/6th February. She is in a situation where she needs to get out of the place she is living before then. Around the 24th Jan we are looking at. I live with my parents at the moment and they will not have us both living here for personal reasons.
That leaves us with around 2 weeks that we have to find accommodation for (hoping that one of the places we apply for we get).
I really don't know what to do for this two week period that we are going to be facing here. Is our only option to go into a hotel / b&b until our place would be available? I do have money but obviously it is expensive to be in b&b's and hotels and we could really do with saving the money.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Can she not go and stay with parents/relative/friend for those 2 weeks and you stay with your parents?

Try furnished holiday lettings. You might get a good rate as it's definitely low season now.

    Ok.

U don't have to obviously. I just wonder what reason it could be that two weeks there is ok but 4 isn't.

And whether the reason is purely personal or what you may perceive to be legal.

Try Premier inns or Travel Lodge, pretty cheap from what I remember.

She could look at people who have rooms for lodgers, especially those whp advertise for commuters as they are often happy to accept a short term lodger.

Failing that there are also the likes of holiday inns and B&Bs, I would persinally call a few B&Bs, they may be willing to reduce their room rate slightly if they are guaranteed payment for a few weeks.

Set your budget, remember it "includes bills" and then phone round all small/private B&Bs, hotels, and the big chains and local holiday lets/annexes to see if they can offer you a bargain price.

I got a room in a hotel, in mid July, at a popular seaside, with breakfast included and use of a small pool for about £150/week when I was looking round.

Also, try airbnb.com with the same aim in mind - that's where I saw mine advertised. I just saw who it was, then googled for the hotel name/number and phoned them direct to explain my situation (relocating) and they offered me their "long term winter rate" for 3 weeks, even though it was peak season in a good spot. The week before I'd bagged a week in a caravan in Cornwall for about £150 too.

Thank you very much for the suggestions so far guys. I am looking into local holiday letting, I live near Great Yarmouth by the seafront so there is a few places. The best I can seem to find at the moment is around £450 for 2 weeks.
Do you think it's worth phoning up the local travel lodge / premier inn to see if they would do a deal on 2 weeks worth?

    Hiya

If you live near Gt Yarmouth how about the caravan and chalet sites.

They should be cheap this time of year.

Or advertise locally and see if someone can let you use their caravan or chalet on the private sites for 2 weeks.

    Good luck
