Jet Car Wash damaged paint on my car

Hi everyone!
I took the g/f's car to the local car wash Saturday and a small nik in the back bumper has now turned into the paint on an area the size of a tennis ball being removed and back to the bare plastic.
Can anyone advise what me rights in this scenario are?

not what you want to hear but im sure the car wash will have a disclaimer saying at customers risk0

I don't think you have any rights. You used a high power water jet on an area of paint work that was already damaged. Sorry to sound harsh but it was your own fault really.0

Unfortunately your rights are pretty much non-existent - you were the one that used the jetwash, knowing that there was an issue with the paintwork.0 -

I had my paintwork damaged by a car wash guy using a pressure washer, my paint wasnt damaged to start with.
A colleage of mine had exactly the same thing happen on his car (same model of car and almost in the same place) at a different car wash
I put it down to experience0 -
I have to be honest, you're daft enough to use a jet wash on already damaged paint, and think it's someone else's fault?
It's like saying you filled and drove on a tyre you know had a puncture, and want to claim because it blew out while driving and damaged your car. Just not going to happen.0 -

I happened to me once as well, I have put down to experience and now wash my car myself!Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -
Sorry for not being clear - they used the jet wash not me and I didn't know the earlier damage was there.
@MattyPrice4004 - Thanks for calling me daft - gotta be honest if your that rude just don't bother.
Thanks for your input internet people - trolls and all.0 -

They should have been informed as you already said it was small and would have only been noticeable once it was too late. If you didn't even know yourself then you'll just have to put this down to experience.0 -

Not what you stated in the original postTimeHasCome wrote: »

which implies you knew of the earlier damage, but failed to inform them, so trying to shift the blame onto them0
