That's what I like about you Dave - always an informed opinion to share! My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
No ebay don't allow it.
We have used google twice to send an invoice and receive money.
We have had no problems with it, it is set up to automatically send the money once recived, to our bank account which takes around the same amount of time as paypal - sometimes quicker.
As far as I am aware and I'm willing to be corrected on this, all verification checks on the buyer are done before allowing the seller the money. That is my understanding of it anyway.
I have read many stories which suggest their customer service is about as good as paypal's but cannot confirm this.
I have also read many people cannot get their money out of their google account but again not a problem I've encountered.
We haven't yet set it up with our website though as we have lots of options for customers to choose from and their Buy now buttons work in a different way to paypal's or something so cannot use them yet.
Best of all of course it's free for goole till the end of the year!0 -

I don't know about the verifying buyers bit. I have used Google check out quite a bit for buying (when they had the mutliple £10 discounts) and never had a problem. Strange thing is I used my real bank details (obviously) but a totally ficticious name that I am known as but have no legal right to use. Paypal wouldn't allow that a few years ago when I registered with them, they insisted that my name had to match those on the bank details, but Google were happy for them to be different. It would mean that no one could connect my name to my address should I turn out to be a scammer..
I would hasten to add that I don't mean that I will use it to scam, it's just that I prefer my known name and my legal name to remain unconnected.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I also use Google Checkout - everything OK so far both as a buyer and a seller so hopefully can ditch PayPal before too long.
TazBar have integrated it into their end-of-sale CheckOut which makes it very fast to use.
I offer it on all my listings now and along with NOCHEX, all my payments come in that way :T
eBay don't allow as they don't own it -and it's competition to PayPal0 -

My one experiace with paypal was a disaster.
Nochex are complete scumbags IMO.
I first discovered this site when I was trying to find out how Nochex could get away with stealing my money from my Nochex account.
I only had about £15 in there but tried to log on one day and found my account closed and Nochex simply STOLE my money. The changed the T&C but didn't tell anyone.
It isnt enough to simply log in to your account, you have to actually shift money through it to be Allowed to keep your own money. If you don't transfer any money, Nochex will happily take it and close your account, no warnings.
My only issue with Google checkout is not being able to trace the order once placed.
With Ebuyer, for example, I can log in to my account after I have paid and see the current status of my order.
Using Google checkout, I cannot. You pay, then nothing unitl Hopefully it is delivered in time.0
