I think he is either a dissillusioned STR himself or would have liked to be if he had a property to start with. Have a look at what he was saying 2 years ago.

#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided

#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now

#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing

you would have assumed the banks have an element of self interest in preventing the such massive bubbles and the bad debt which happens after (1) but then there may be better money riding the whole cycle, or possibly just better bonuses.

    (1) i can see plenty of btl "businessmen" using the easier bancrupsy laws soon

Most people will manage their payments. The banks will have far more good payers than bad debtors and their calculated risk will pay off. They will make more profit by lending twice as much and having 1% or 2% default than by simply lending to 'perceived' wealthier clients (some of whom would still default).

Your desire to see BTLers go bust is born out of jealousy and mis-directed anger. Providing the BTL 'business' was built on solid foundations any pain of lower house prices will be more severe for 'normal' homewoners and tenants than for BTL LLs.

    :)

Yep his opinions where the complete opposite in 2005, from that website giving the impression that he decided and was urging people to STR. Now he realised he did it at the wrong time and about now is a better time to sell. They should interview him on working lunch itd be hillarious, esp since he cant pronouce his words.

If your reading bruno maybe you should have been less obssessed in the markets and concentrate on living some sort of life, speed dating, wine tasting, trips to amsterdam and thailand, get yourself a drop top car and chill the f*k out.

    Fantastic.

Proof, if proof were needed, that he has finally lost it.

I agree about the 20% overpricing, especially on places that are around the £250K mark which makes them go into the next level of stamp duty,

    I think 20

I think 20% is really quite a conservative figure.

  • PMSL! that is truly harrowing, he must have forgot to take his lithium.

Next thing we'll hear is him on the news being arrested for hunting down STRs with a rifle.

Getting attention for good things is good, but for deranged behaviour is not so good at all.

These posts become boring. I know through experience that house prices can go down. I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is and I have. You HPC people continually spout the same crap and it never happens. Come back when your so called crash occurs but until then lets base our calculations on facts ;-)
Not quite a year, but we're back.
