I keep meaning to do something similar to that and to file it in the filing cabinet under Emergencies. My DH is not computer savvy at all and has only ever managed to log in to the internet banking with me talking him through it on the phone. At least he knows who our solicitor is so could get his hands on a copy of the will. The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

So Dear Diary
I spent some 'unnecessary' money in Sainsburys today:o
They had a clearance on those small party bag gifts for kids. I picked up some Jacks (a game where you toss a small ball and pick up the jacks), some sliding puzzle games, and some ruler/stencils things. All of these were reduced from £1.50 to 15p each. I bought 4 of each item. So total spend was £1.80:T
I make homemade Christmas Crackers for the grandchildren because the ones you buy in the shops have total rubbish in them like a thin piece of plastic film in the shape of a fish that curls on your palm and tells your fortune...apparently:rotfl: So this unnecessary spend will be worth it. I normally spend far more than £1.80 on making the christmas crackers, so I am chuffed
I put the money out of my grocery shopping budget because we are underspending on that this month as we are living off the food we had accumulated in the freezer:jDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

Well mine is very computer savvy, can even put them together from bits and repair them etc, but he just has no interest in the finances or anything like that at all. Much as I must admit I do like to organise things, I do wish that he could do it, as sometimes I have just had enough and would love to think he could do it without me having to check if its correct etc. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Another day of silence on the DMP front.
I admit to continuing to worry things are not being set up properly:o
SC told me a week ago I would get a welcome pack with log in information and a breakdown of payments agreed to creditors. I haven't heard anything from SC or creditors. Everything else in the set up of my DMP has had a glitch so I am convinced something else has glitched - especially as after talking to SC last week I then got a text a few days later saying they needed information before they could set up my DMP and when I phoned them the guy I spoke to couldn't understand what information they were waiting and said he would activate my DMP, which I had been told by another adviser had been activated when I spoke to them 4 days earlier.
Oh well, no news is supposed to be good news. It's strange I want letters from our creditors now....what a turnaround;)DFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
StepChange log in details arrived today - so at least I can stop panicking and know the DMP is actually set up. Still all quiet on the creditor front though.
I am clearing some of my crafting stash today and plan to list some unwanted crafting tools and bits and pieces on ebay. Probably won't generate much cash but it's less clutter in my home and hopefully a few quid in the emergency fundDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -

Hi January
Glad you've got your log in details. As my DMP has progressed I love logging in and checking my statements as you can see each individual debt decreasing, not much at first if you have a lot of them but you then see milestones along the way not just in the overall debt but in getting certain ones in the next thousand/ hundred. I also like playing with the budget calculator just supposing I could pay an extra £50/£100 what difference would it make ( I can't at the moment!) it keeps me going! Although it all sounds a bit sad now I've typed it ! Oh well.....:rotfl:SCP # 034

So I've been decluttering the house and listing things on eBay and I have now got to the DVD collection:eek:
DH and I agree 99% of them can go but is it worth the effort of listing them on eBay and if they sell packing and posting them off?
I know I should be grateful for any additional income - this just seems like it's going to be a lot of hard work for such little return.
On a positive note, as I posted on the DMP mutual thread earlier - first contact from creditors (MBNA) and they've accepted SCs offer, frozen interest and stopped all charges:T Here's hoping they are all that easy:jDFW Nerd No. 1484 LBM 07/01/15 Debt was £95k  Now debt free and happy :j0 -
We have loads of DVD's to get rid of as well. I was all for putting them on Music Magpie but most of them on there are only worth about 35p each
and OH not happy to sell them at that price. We tried a few of the better ones on Fleabay but to no avail so have put them all in a big box in alphabetical order and they are with the rest of the car boot stuff, waiting for the nice weather and the car boot season to start next month. We also have large box of CD's as well. We have sold DVD's at at car boot before and got £1 each....which is good considering how many we have got:eek:.
On the DMP subject, MBNA were our first ones to contact us as well. Still heard nothing at all from Debenhams store card, who are owned by Newday now. BC are the ones causing us the grief!:mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
