Parking Ticket - No Lines, Poorly Lit

Looks like I got a parking ticket for parking in a no parking area, one that has no lines. £30 now or £60 later.

Of course I'm annoyed who wouldn't be annoyed..There was no lines.

Can I appeal successfully if there was no lines.

Here you go, but doesn't tell/show anything to go on. As Tilt says, much more detail needed.

My guess is that it's in a CPZ. if so lines are not required.

Given the photo and the reduction in payment from £60 to £30 I'd say that's a council parking ticket.

If it is indeed a council PCN then you need to go over to Pepipoo and start a new thread in the council ticket forum.

Why? Depending on the info from the OP, I reckon this should be pretty straight forward.

    News cannot post html links...!?

The area is not quite city centre , the ticket was issued 10/01/15 at 20.50 and was issued by Parking Attendant #CW99.

At this time of night and throughout the day there are often cars parked and I genuinely, until the ticket was issued never noticed the small no parking signs/plates. These are placed at intervals along the street, I've noticed since some are easier to see than others.

That aside no lines, I believe this is a new trend!

any other info req' be specific.

Is the area within a controlled parking zone (CPZ)? If yes, is there a CPZ sign with the enforcement times on at every junction that leads to the CPZ? If yes then no lines are required.

Obviously we can't help further unless we at least know the location.

Ok after a bit of digging I found the vital missing information that the area is in Aberdeen.

As I thought, it appears that you were in a "at any time" CPZ and as such, lines are not required. HOWEVER, I always advise to appeal while in the discounted period as you have nothing to lose. I suggest that you appeal on the grounds you were unfamiliar with the area and that there were no lines. I suspect they will reject the appeal saying that a CPZ dosn't require lines. BUT still worth a punt.

The only other possible way out is if there is any missing signage at each entry point to the CPZ. If there is just one entry point without signage, it normally renders the zone un-enforceable.
