Hi Monkey Chinchilla
Thanks for your interest in our competition,Monkey_Chinchilla wrote: »For example this Facebook Experian competition to win £1000 John Lewis vouchers https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5127568 quite clearly states:
'The winners will be those entrants who, in the sole opinion of the judge, submit the most aspirational and original entry.'
They've just posted the winner on Facebook saying:
'Her wish was for a happy and healthy Christmas and 2015 with her family.'
I am not bitter towards any winner and don't mean to cause any offence but I wish companies wouldn't have us spend ages writing clever and witty answers only to blatantly pick at random.
I understand they probably get hundreds of entries and don't have time to read them all but a bit of honesty in the T&C wouldn't go amiss.
I'm sure you've come across plenty of other examples.
All of the submitted entries were selected and short-listed by an external agency, Bell Pottinger, and then their short-list was forwarded onto an additional independent judge with no names included.
The independent judge then selected the winners for each week of the competition.
For your reference, the complete winning entry was: “I lost my job through disability earlier this year so Christmas for my four kids is a little tighter. They have had to adjust to a whole new life but they've been so brave and help me enormously. I would dearly love to have an infection free, happy Xmas with my amazing family, to treat my husband and kids to something special. I know I can't buy health but I'd sure like to make this a special year ahead to make up for the shocker 2014 has been.”
We decided to shorten and summarise the winning entry in our image as it would have read too long.
I hope this helps, if you have any further questions or concerns you can contact us here.
Kind Regards

Nothing wrong with that but it would have been useful to have made that clear or at least had a link to the full winning entry at the time.0 -
