CCS Debt Collection - Parking Fine

Hi,
I'm sorry to bother people, however I receieved a letter from a company called CCS who advised me that they have been passed my debt from a Private Car Parking Firm and I don't know whether to respond or just let it go away.
Basically, last summer I sold my car to We Want Any Car. A couple of weeks later I received a parking fine of £100 from a private car parking firm advising I was parked on a car park for over an hour and it was dated several days after I'd sold the vehicle. I wrote back to the company to advise I do not own the car and that I wasn't parked there on that day. They wrote back completely ignoring my letter advising me that I was still held accountable. I ignored several more letters and then today I have received a letter from CCS advising that they have been passed the debt and I owe them £100.
I really don't know what to do as I do not want bad credit as I am due to buy a house this year. Yet at the same time I feel as though I do not owe any money so would like to stick to my guns.
What should I do? Any help please? I've never been in this situation before and I have never heard of CCS!
Thanks,
Liam

Which parking company please? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I will have to double check when home but I'm pretty sure it's Parking Eye or a company with a similar name.
I've never linked these with ParkingEye, but who knows where PPCs look to exert pressure on motorists.
I 'like' their:Will a debt collector really visit me at home?
CCSCollect uses nationwide doorstep collection agencies which employ over 2500 field based agents. If you do not contact us we may arrange for an agent to visit you.
Yeh, right - scary. They wouldn't want to visit me!
I wonder how many doorsteps their agencies have 'collected'. Complete BS!

Is it still the case that when entering private land it is the driver of the car that makes the contract with the land owner and not the owner of the car?
I'm just a bit worried that this will affect my credit rating. I'm not going to pay for something I didn't do, but it is worrying.0 -
POFA 2012 can apply for england and wales, but not scotland or Northern Ireland
you can ignore debt collectors for parking invoice charges
its an LBC or an MCOL you need to take action with
have a read of the NEWBIES sticky thread for more info0 -
You can ignore or write one.
dear CDC,
The debt is denied. Please refer back to the principal. The vehicle was sold before the date and I was therefore neither owner nor driver. You have no cause of action and further contact other than to cancel the charge will result in a complaint for harassment.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
You should also make a complaint to the landowner of the car park.
Its highly unlikely that a private parking company would own the car park, and as such they will be most likly acting as agents for the land owner.
You should have the name of the parking company and the location of the car park to handFrom the Plain Language Commission:

It would help if you could confirm whether or not the PPC is ParkingEye. Knowing who (we're) you're dealing with will lead to more specific advice on how to play this. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. Apologies I've just checked and it was G24 Parking Management Solutions. Not sure where I got ParkingEye from, might have been from other forums whilst I was googling.
G24 it is.
After the letter I sent them to advise that I do not own the car G24 sent me a massive pack basically advising false laws and stating it didn't matter as I was still accountable etc.0 -
G24 dont do court, so although you will have to weather the begging letter storm for 6 years you can ignore them and CCS or DRP or any other debt collector
only come back to this thread if you get an LBC or an MCOL from G24 or the landowner
in the meantime, IGNORE the debt collectors0
