Still have another week left in April but thought I'd just add myself in again for May. My month runs from 1st - 31st May. Have a couple of weekends away planned but usually take most, if not all, food with us but if I have to buy anything then it will still need to come from grocery budget.
Budget for May is £250 and anything left over at the end will be transferred to savings.

Thank you for your support. Been missing them and it is hard but as I said I did give myself time.
I initially put that May didn't start until the 1st but talked to OH and he said he was paid today so no budget starts today. Did change the date in initial post. Have kept the budget the same. Have a birthday this month but different budget so should be okay.

Hi there, a looooong time lurker and very occasional poster here, I'd like to address my ridiculous grocery spends and so, listening to the opening post where it suggests you cut down realistically, can I sign up for trying to keep to
£500
please for the period of 5th May to 2nd June.
This is to feed me, hubster, DSof25, DSof21 and his GF, pooch and puss (including pack lunches for the menfolk)0 -
Tiny change here in that the period covered will need to be 28th April to 28th May- this is the period the cashback CC covers and I do ALL spending on that, which makes it very easy to track. T'other dates are our financial month (hubster is self employed and a subcontractor so it's by the 2nd I can finally reckon up what's what in our finances).
Happy Sunday to all- order of the day here is: Marathon (armchair cheering anyway), and then a family lunch out to celebrate lovely SiL birfday, not too shabby for Sheba. Enjoy whatever it is you are doing.

I fell off the wagon a little last month. I'm going to try for £160 for May. That's for two adults, one child and two cats. I'm stocked up on cat food and DD gets hot lunches at school, so not as lean as it sounds. Plus we have a well stocked cupboard. Definitely up for the challenge this month!0

Hello everyone,
My condolences to zippychick and january_23 on your loss.
Well last month didn't go very well and I ended up £45 overspend.
I am going to join again for this month but will stick to the same
£240 this will run from 27 April until 27 May, so I think it is doable. I am back at work so that will help.
I am also planning a lot more veggie meals as DD has expressed an interest in becoming vegan, so I am going to gradually introduce a lot more veggie food, as I also think it will be better for us healthwise.
Good luck to everyone and thank you for all the support and ideas on this thread.SPC 11 #4450 -
