I've blown this week's budget, but don't feel too bad as I still have some money in my account and it was only a small overspend.
I'm going to change my budget amounts as I think I'm being too stingy towards myself.
I really need a separate budget for 'storecupboard' items that I buy when on SO or that last months.Using my ordinary grocery budget for those items doesn't make sense and throws everything out.
I start every year with £100 in my bulk-buy fund (which you will see on my signature).

I use this for bulk buying meat from the butcher, as too far to go every week, and any special offers which I know I will use such as tuna or baked beans.
Each month any monies over in my monthly budget go back into the bulk-buy fund.

I have found it has worked quite well for the past three and a half years and usually enough left for the turkey crown at C*

    Sounds good.

I used to have a specific monthly budget for storecupboard items, but it somehow went by the wayside.
I'll have to start it again.

    £21.41 to add to signature.

I had a £6 off £40 spend but stocked up on some non grocery items. That should last me until Saturday which will be my last shop of the month. Hope to be way under this month!!

My spend this month was £155.81 which is well within my £200 limit. I managed a shop to a Waitrose while on a holiday and stocked up on my 3 favourite cleaning products.
Their clear sensitive shower gel to clean me
Their bathroom cleaner the one with the toy duck on the front.
Their kitchen cleaner the orange one. All favourites so bought enough for a few months.
With the money saved this year in my grocery budget I replaced my vacuum cleaner that died this week- it had been fixed so often and this time couldn't be revived. I bought a shark from Dunelm which is a Good Housekeeping best buy. :D

Well done to all who have declared under budget so far this month.
Shopping yesterday came to £25.07 and for once I managed to get a good reduction on an item. We brought some posh bread that is usually £1.59 which was the price of the loaf in the trolley, however a nice assistant was reducing some of them and stuck a sticker on top for just £0.25 so saving us the grand amount of £1.34 :j also saved £1.10 between another 2 items.
Will need to get some fruit & veg on Saturday and a couple of other items so it will be close but hopefully do-able - £32.59 left.
    MARCH £62.38/250

Well my plan from yesterday has changed. I thought I could wait until Saturday for my weekly shop but because I am not stocking up in things I keep runNing out! We are out of weetabix and raisins- two staples in our house that get eaten daily! The boys have porridge with raisins and at a push have weetabix but as we have neither that would be a struggle and OH will eat nothing except weetabix, so popped into aldi. Got a few other bits while I was there so hopefully we only need fruit and milk at the weekend! Fingers crossed!
So 28.69 to add to signature. I did get loo rolls and a chicken as I was getting Fairly low!!
