A spend of £19.11 in Sainsbugs yesterday - trying to get lots of bonus points but only on things I need and that are good value anyway. Free bottle of wine, yay! :)
    Also £3.36 in Home Bargains.

Forgot razors... and can I find a new mop head anywhere??? Why should I need to buy the whole thing every time? What a waste! Going to try the little hardware store in town next. I will not give up!
    Keep reading books!
August grocery challenge budget £150, spent so far £45.95, remaining £104.05.

Couple of spends on Saturday means we are now at £129.98 which is ok - £70 left and only a week to go.
Mum not too good at moment so have been with her more however she seems to be doing ok now so fingers crossed.
Am amazed at how quickly this month has gone, it really seems to have rushed by.

Over budget by £16.79 so far and still have a lunch commitment and a few little bits to get before my new financial month begins on the 28th so think that we will be about 50 quid over budget which equates to an overspend of 10%. Strangely enough I am at peace with this, as, with it being my first attempt at a running total grocery challenge it has highlighted a few obvious errors and some surprises which will help me to build up a view of where to try to cutback. I am gonna try the same target amount again and again till I can consistently achieve it (say 3 months on the trot) and then shall drop the figure by about £25 till I can consistently get the budget to less than £400.
Hope you guys are all doing better than I, and enjoying the long weekend and lovely weather too!

    Morning!

Been a lousy month for me. 5 days left and blown the budget completely. I've been feeling down in the dumps and have been taking the easy route with food. Ignoring my meal plans and buying in convenience. The last 7 days I've also faced up to the fact that I need to control what I'm eating, so I've had to get a few bits in for my diet too. I haven't tallied up all the spends yet, but I'm estimating £50 over. Not the end of the world, but a bit disappointing.

On the plus side, I'm coming out of my low mood again now, and we should have enough food to last us until Friday. Allowing a little extra for next month as it's someone's birthday (mine!!! :D) and we're hoping to have a beach BBQ for it.

Heading into the depths of my bank account and my pile of receipts to tot up the damage now...

Just popping in to say I did terrible this month! First month if the challenge and it's certainly been an eye opener. Biggest problems were too many 'big' ships at the start of the month, using money off vouchers but they required a spend of £80+, so ended up with things I didn't really need for the month. Lesson hopefully learned!
Baby no. 3 due any day so not sure how much I'll keep on top of posting next month either. Hopefully spend within our budget though!
