First enforced NSD of this month - all snow related. Don't get me wrong, I'm not snowed in, but I've been forced to work from home so won't be meeting my friend for lunch and I don't need anything from the shops.
Meal plan is all ready to go and, as luck would have it, it was going to be something warm and comforting for tea anyway. That will be a bonus for when OH gets home as he's got into work and is now waiting patiently for if he can come home early.
I was going to pop to the butchers to stock up on meat but I can do that on Friday. I'm just trying to work out the cuts I can do the most with and/or can be slow cooked. Will go and check the recipe collection that someone kindly posts up at the beginning of every month. How long til pay day?
March Grocery Challenge - £69.54 / £3000 -
Right, I said I'd be starting in February (23rd Jan - 25th Feb). We spent a lot of January eating up stores so it's back to regular meal planning and stocking up the freezer again. I haven't done this for ages and have lost track of the budget somewhat. Our budget is all 'grocery' shopping including cleaning and hygiene products. So,
£350
for February please and I'll see where I end up!0 -
Since I came in well under budget last month (mainly due to excess stock) I am going to go for £100 less, so £200 from Jan 20th - Feb 19th. This is for me and 1 boy. Also never tracked NSD's so will go for 5 to aim for. I tend to go Morrisons daily as its 5mins from work although I am trying to break this habit.0

Hi everyone
I have avidly followed these threads for a while and have been following a budget since January 1st and am pleased to say that it looks like I should be ok this month.
I have been trying to meal plan and limit my trips to the shops and aim for as many nsds as possible!
Can I be put down for £200 with my month starting 1st feb, this is for 2 adults and 2 children and is purely for food. Toiletries, nappies, cleaning products etc are separate.
Hoping you guys will help me stay on the straight and narrow!
ThanksFebruary GC £181.99 /£200 NSDS 16/28

Hi, newbie here so sorry if I get anything wrong.
The main thing is my DH money goes into the joint account on the 20th of each month and then mine goes in on the on the 24th, so I'm hoping I can count 20th Jan to 20th Feb as my Feb challenge please?
I'm joining the Mortgage Free Wannabies and think groceries is one area I could cut down on.
It's just me, DH and two cats so I'm going to set a budget of £200 this month including all food, drink and toiletries for humans and non humans (!)
I keep an eye on the shopping and think we usually spend around that amount, so I'm just going to use this month to gauge where I could make savings in the future.
Can you please put me down for £200 for Feb.
I've not spent anything on food yesterday or today, and I'm armed with a £5 off a £30 Lidl voucher and a £5 off a £40 Aldi voucher ready for a big shop at the weekend!:rotfl:0 -
I was wondering do Lidl do the £5 off like Aldi do?February GC £261.97/24 NSDS 10/12

The voucher I have was in a leaflet I picked up in store. It has the store name on it so it might just be local or maybe other stores do specific vouchers too?0
