Hi Abba- thank you- she had an amazing evening and seemed to enjoy herself. We bought a tree print where everyone puts their finger prints as leaves which looked amazing!

Today we are under £1k! Woohoo :j

Hubby paid off the remaining balance on his card so we are at £982

    Just limping through £982

Been thinking about the future and spending and though the fluffy view is to imagine that we wouldn't use credit cards again however I do realise this isn't realistic. It is about controlled spending - only putting something larger on a card if we don't want to dip into savings when we can pay it back on payday.

:T to under £1k well done. You are flying.

What you said is true though. A keen eye on the budget after debt freedom is still needed to stop any chance of slipping back into careless ways.

Thanks all, didn't seem that long ago since we were pleased about being under £10k!

Today I am in the train down to Exeter to meet our accountants for work - nice to be out of the office but not the most exciting of days.

Bought a costa coffee which I should be able to claim back. Tonight we have a beef casserole for dinner we go a pack of reduced westcountry beef for £1.25 so it is s bargain dinner.

Money is a struggle....if we can get through to payday without needing to use the cc I'll be surprised. Father's Day coming up, a wedding, birthday and food shop with little to nothing left. It's okay if we do but it will add to the £982 we are planning to pay off on payday (hopefully) to be debt free. £982 is do able with some disposable income to spare.

The car is another issue- it has its motion July and it is on its last legs. So there is s possibility of a large car cost having to go on cc mid July which will pee on our debt free celebrations! I will think positive though!

I have recently be thinking about the holidays we want to do. Hubby wants to go to Canada- as do I and we always said we could do it for his 40th which is 2020 in 5 years. So I'm going to start a savings pot in my terracotta pot I have to break and start putting money in for the next few years- makes it seem more like a real plan (the other destination would be New Zealand)

I keep wanting to plan our money targets after we pay off this last amount- but the impending MOT makes a big difference on what we can do!

    Food for thought!

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

DD2 got called to play in a netball tournament today so she has been out since 8.30 and will be back at 5 - so very quiet in this house.

I have meal planned and we have done a food shop - the rest of our day has been mooching about the house with housework etc which has been nice.

Got an email from DD1's school to say a trip I paid for worked out cheaper in the end so they are refunding me £5 - result!

Did my first meat order on muscl3 f00d - a few people have recommended them so I thought I would bulk buy some meat and see what I think.

    I spent £43 including delivery and have on the way;

    5kg chicken breasts
    400g extra lean mince
    bacon medalions
    400g diced beef
    400g diced turkey
    3 chicken drumsticks
    2 rump steaks
    2 sirloin steaks

I have meal planned for the next couple of weeks so I will either cook some meals and freeze them for July or portion and freeze the raw meat.

Booked to see Jurassic World tomorrow with the kids - I am very excited! I had a £10 cinema voucher for my birthday so only cost an extra £11.49 for the tickets and the kids REALLY want to see it!

I have a lovely clean house downstairs but need to spend some time on the upstairs this evening!

I have been meaning to create a new Day Zero Project list as I want to get on with one again - 101 things to do in 1001 days.

It is almost there - just 8 more things to think of - trying to find a balance between money related, new experience, kind hearted, DIY, craft and purchase ideas :D This really gets me motivated!

    Hi Crunchy

It is like a bucket list website where you can log a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days - they give you ideas and you can look at other lists etc.

    Here's mine

When the kids are older and we are better off mine will be a lot more exciting and will include lots of visits to amazing places :p
