Importing from US Saved Money
Comments
-
I once bought a second-hand laptop which had a US format keyboard, to my surprise and annoyance, since no mention was made of it.
After setting up all the things I could to make it work as Noble British, I still couldn't get it to work properly for typing text in Word, including the £ sign. Having spent about a day trying all I knew and could research on the internet, I gave up and sent it back.
Whether this just shows staggering incompetence on my part or not, this seller appears now to replace the physical US keyboards of any laptop that has one with the expected UK-format variant....0 -
I've had 2 laptops and the keyboaard is removable.
First one was actually a US laptop but the latter was a UK one and I needed to remove it so I can clean it.0 -

Wont the imported TV be expecting to run at 60hz NTSC signal rather than 50hz PAL? Could be interesting!
And as already mentioned, hope its multi voltage 110/230.0 -
You're all making the OP regret their foolish money saving.. and it's hilarious0

On a serious note, not all US TVs are multi-voltage, and there's a very good chance there'll be no indication on the device.
Plugging a 110v device into a 230v power supply is a very very bad idea indeed.
Smoke, fire, boom, that kind of thing.
Travel adapters just change the plug pins, they don't adjust the voltage.
If the TV is multi voltage, then it will (probably) happily play stuff from other sources. So if you only use the TV as a screen to show stuff that a Sky or Freeview or Freesat box tunes into, the OP will probably be OK.
Best to have a fire extinguisher on standby just in case though
