looks like you haven't paid VAT

There should be a £39.7 VAT on that plus £8 royal mail handling fee.

So really it should be a £10 saving but you evaded tax. congrats.

    Will an American tv work?

Probably as a monitor only if 230V or multivoltage, no terrestrial or satellite built in tuner(s) will work over here.

A few years ago when on holiday in the USA i purchased a Toshiba Laptop ( it worked out approx. £150 cheaper than 1 in the UK). I asked about the warranty as i was from UK and they guy said no problem we can provide an EU warranty, but would would need to purchase a UK power lead. I had to go back the following day to collect the EU warranty. On returning to UK i located a Toshiba authorised repair centre and took it along to get the correct lead and the guy asked me to leave the laptop with him and he will correctly set it up for UK use and for me to call back an hour later. Called back and he handed over the laptop with UK lead which i expected to pay for. he told me that he changed the bios to run in the UK and changed a switch inside the unit and provided the lead and the warranty would cover it all.

I wan't talking about keyboard mapping, I was talking about the actual keyboard such as the key that shows 3 & # instead of 3 & £ or the 2 & @ instead of 2 &"
