Sadly it's unlikely that they'll give you a bigger discount just because you know other people have had them. It's not a case of one discount fits all sadly. It's all done on an individual basis. My friend did a whole twelve month contract, paid every month on time, to be told that she wasn't eligible for any form of upgrade or discount. If you aren't happy with the discount then have a look around, you might find a better deal elsewhere.

i would work out how much it cost to sell the upgrade if you do get one(presuming you dont actually want a nw phone)? yes you might save £100 over the year if they make your package cheaper but some phones they are offering are worth a lot more than that.

I just upgraded my t-mobile contract a few days ago.

Ive been on Flext 35 for 18/mths and asked how much I could have discounted if I kept my original handset. He said I could have it for £20 per month instead of £35 per month. I asked him to throw in free insurance as its an old phone now so I couldnt trust it working for another 18 month contract period. They couldnt so I asked what he could do it for with a new handset. He said £30. I said no. He then went to £27/mth I said ill look elsewhere. I finally agreed £26 per month and a brand new top of the range phone :)

I was happy with my deal although I think I was lucky as different people get different deals depending on how they feel!!

I kept my old handset and got a deal £5 a month for 300 minutes off peak plus 30 texts. I thenput £10 on the sim card in case I ever need to use it during the day. I had this deal last year too and did the same a couple of months ago for 18 month contract deal. Was also offered same deal for £15month with a new phone but declinedt that and bought a phone elsewhere for half the price.

N95 for £90 is quite a good deal. You can get it unlocked for £15 after a month.

On eBay I've seen 'reliable' offers starting at £250. Even a £6 per month discount is £72 off, but you could make up to £145 with the N95 (£250 - £105) so you'd be in profit.

  • I had flex 15 for £5 per month. Very good deal, but when I took it out I explicity asked would it be £5 x number of months if I wanted my pac code in 6 months etc. My old phone gave up the ghost, tmobile wanted a stupid amount for a upgrade. I got a new contract on '3' for £15 (haggled the handset price down from £149.99 to £49.99! :-) for this tariff.

Phoned tmobile for the pac and they charged me £85 for it! They dont included the discount. I now have an email addy to complain to try and get it at the reduced rate. Not a happy bunny.
