Monday is nearly over, sorry it's been a bit rubbish. We are huge blacklist fans here too, just finished season 2. We stopped halfway through season one for some reason ages ago but have got back into it and am so glad we did!

Dd is about to restart piano lessons, these are expensive and possibly an extravagance but seems to have a natural talent and I want to nurture it. Well done on all the sales this month, am sure your debt totals will be coming down nicely!

  • Chuffed that we have knocked another month off the mortgage and now are at 12yrs 11mths, 35% paid and we are also under £110k at £109,240.

Another £5 from p-cone, but plan to take it in cash as they are taking forever to pay out via am@zon vouchers..

I'm glad you hit a mortgage milestone and you sound a bit fed up.

We pondered piano lessons for DD as she likes playing, but I don't think she's ready for them yet. We'll stick to jamming on the grandparents' piano for now. :) I taught myself the basics from a book so if she's ever interested to actually know how to read music and play the correct notes for the song I can start her off.

We have the dreaded cough here too.

  • Thanks Amy..

Well the first CC bill arrived for CC4 and the interest is not at all what they told me, it would be, even a call to their 'overseas' call centre was a waste of time, so we are pursing a family loan to cover both CC1 and CC4 as both will be interest paying by April. I did look into a loan, but I think our credit must be shot at the mo from all the bank switches, must remember to actually log on to credit searches soon.

I know it's not ideal, but needs must really.. as it's not my side of the family, just need to hope they say yes now!

Have you done the soft search thingy on here? I used it to get a loan last week. If you haven't it's very good.

We have just paid off our car finance and credit card with ours. I feel much more in control now.

If family are happy to help I'd go for it. At least you can pay as much or little per month as you are comfortable with.

  • I did a soft search yes through this site and clicked through to two with a decent chance, but didn't get either.

At least it would give me an end date for the debt, end of 2017 as we are saying we will pay it back in two years.

Would still me CC3 but that is interest free and I still need to clear the £1k on the everyday use CC, but that is also interest free.

Done lots of budget tweaking here and there and have found the £250.. we just need to focus for 2 years.. it's do-able and I'm feeling better now knowing it is all planned out (as long as family say yes) - should know tonight.
