How does the WITOW figure work?

You take you total debt figure, Mortgate/loans/ccs etc and subtract your savings from the total.

That's how I do it anyway.

I just added up all the debt we had  and put what was owing so it's just one figure.. My signature was getting too long - just shows how much debt we had!

Week has run away with me again.. everything just sooo busy!

Soo a quick update. Didn't go for the interview I had this week as we worked out the pennies and it was more travel for £300 less a month and we figure I have some time to sort out another job if push comes to shove. Am on the brink of applying for another one which would be ideal, but salary isn't stated in the advert so rightly or wrongly I've emailed to ask what they are thinking of paying as I don't want to waste time applying and it be too low, plus I'd have to tell current boss I'd applied (just the way it works in our sector) and don't really want to highlight to him at the minute that I'm looking elsewhere!

Our elderly neighbour's son approached us this week to replace the fence inbetween our properties. It's their fence and a wall needs to go up as it's a fire risk as her oil tanks are on the other side, so fence panels were taken down yesterday and wall should go up next week which means we get a nice new wall for nothing.. we were only debating what we were going to do with that bit of the garden recently.. must must get saving for these slabs - really want it done September time...

Can't wait for June payday, DH has a temporary payrise for a few months and I've an annual increase with back pay for three months due, so hoping to make a decent payment against the last bit of debt and stash away some for the garden.. I'm not sure August to pay off the debt is do-able now.. Really really need to reign stuff in and focus on clearing the thing!

That wasn't a quick update really was it?

  • Hi DFOD.

Great news about the wall :D.

If the job didn't stack up and didn't feel right it is probably the right thing to do, I'm sure something will come along that is perfect for you.

    Take care.x.

Such a delicate thing applying for a new job and it's got to be right considering how much time we spend there!

Sounds like real progress. Part of your garden is done for you;)
Payrise and back pay are great. Its good when you can tackle debt and still save a bit towards things you want to do.

Thanks all for popping in! Well the salary for the other job is really low! I think it's a no goer.. even if I kept my part part time job it would mean a reduction of£400 a month and having to pay more childcare. Sigh.. ideal location and sounded a good job.

£2 OP off to the mortgage now and £3 payment against the CC..
