help! cards no longer listed on Experian was there before?

Options
Hi

I thought that credit cards were meant to show on the credit report for 6 years after closure, however the end of October i closed three old credit cards (post office, mbna and marks and spencer).

The cards still show on noddle and equifax reports now with a closed status however the listings are not on my experian statutory credit report any more (as closed or otherwise).

At first i assumed perhaps these lenders didn't report to experian however i have just looked at a statory report i ordered end of august (when the cards were active) and they were all being reported then.

Is there and error with the report not showing the accounts at all, have noted a barclaycard i closed early 2013 still shows there with the closure date etc, so its not like other old credit cards have dissapeared.

It's still quite early, if you closed them at the end of October, some companies can take 3+ months to add/amend info on credit reports so perhaps check again in a month's time? Failing that, you could always write to Experian with proof that they are showing as closed on Noddle and Equifax and request that they update their records.

thanks, will have another look at their website FAQ's as i can understand if it was slow to update (i.e. if the accounts were still on there but either not updated or still as an open account and not settled), but i cannot understand why the cards that were listed on there have had there listings disappear completely.

if I can't find anything, will email them to see if they can answer.

You are correct, accounts information is only recorded for six years when the account has been closed.

Can I ask have you recently move and changed your address? If you have then your account information with those lenders may have already been transferred over to the new address, by confirming your current address during the application of your credit report or during the sign up section of a membership this will allow you to see account history linked to that address.

If that isn’t the case and you haven’t recently moved, I would be more than happy to take a look through your credit report with you to establish the reasons the accounts are no longer showing, please could you email me your details (name/dob/address) so I can look at resolving this issue for you.

    Kind Regards

Thank you for the offer of help, I appreciate it, no I haven't moved at all (I am in the process of buying a property however not completed yet so no one has the address etc). I will email you the details over now. Going through the report again have realised that there is a 4th credit card closed that has dissapeared (was on previous report but not this one - from Natwest).
