Natural selection - a new level of cyclist stupidity

Now don't get me wrong....I drive the majority of my time on a motorbike so I know the fun 2 wheels can be. However this morning was a classic.

Now its peeing it down at 7.30 ish so also nice and dark. Its also the main road on the way to the town centre. Visibility is reduced due to the dark and rain.

So I spot coming up the main road on the opposite side a cyclist. Black coat, and aha a shiny red light on the back ( not great but at least at the back hes trying ). Weaving in and out.

Now hes either lost or broken his front light so whats he got on the front? Yes another bright shiny red light. What a doughnut! Aint gonna be long till a car drives headfirst into him thinking hes following a rear light...

What a B3LL 3ND!

Typical response from someone who dosn't see anything wrong in this cos it's a cyclist. Now if it were a car being driven with red lights on the front, we would of got something like "I hope you took the number and reported the idiot to the police".

I'm just not sure that, with two threads running with the express purpose of vilifying cyclists, we need a third one. :)

Well if there's enough cyclists who deserve "vilifying", then maybe we do! :D

Seems unlikely, but, let's see where it goes...

  • Im not doing it just to start a new thread we know no lights is stupid but this it the equivilant of driving a car backwards!

Its the first time I think a cyclist would be better off with NO front light.

But had that been the case, you'd be here complaining about that instead......

I saw one today, riding down the footpath toward oncoming cars, with one of the those stupidly bright front lights blinding me as I approached.
One idiot doesn't make all cyclists the same........

Not ideal but I'd hardly call this a new level. However incorrect the light drew your attention to his presence.

    Hardly.

He may have had two rears and his front failed. It happens. Needs must.
