yes, i was thinking of naming a price. how about half the cost of the survey?

it is odd though, cos we have said what is wrong with the property to explain why we were pulling out. the EA knows why, so not sure why they want the whole survey.

The house I bought, a seller had pulled out before, much like you, after doing a full survey.

The first thing the agent did on showing me was flag up issues and show me the survey. It actually worked to reassure me the agent was being up front about things, and probably sold me the property. I still had my own survey done (to check no pages had been 'missed';)) but the survey there was reassuring.

So the agent probably wants it as a sales tool.

Like others have said, there is a benefit to the agent and seller from having this. I don't think there's anything wrong with asking for some money for it. Isn't this a money saving forum afterall? So OP getting some of their fees back sounds good. I know it sounds cheesy, but there's a win/win scenario here.

OP - go in at half price. When they refuse (which they likely will), ask for a counter-offer, then negotiate from there.
