Higher Monthly Spend but Cheaper Overall Deal

So here's the deal:
Virgin Media:
50Mb Cable BB, TiVo TV M = £13 per month + £144 line rental =
£300 per year
BT:
38Mb Infinity, YouView (basic BT TV) = £23 per month + £169 line rental + £ = £55.95 activation fees/router delivery
£500.95 per year
Obviously Virgin Media wins here.
However BT have their Sainsbury's £125 voucher (we don't shop there but may be able to sell it to someone that does). That means it would work out at £375.95 for the year.
Topcashback had a deal on for £202 cashback. I have had to raise a claim for the cashback but I've grabbed the info they required (order number and VOL number), but there is no guarantee it would go through. With that cashback added on, it means BT goes down to £173.95.
So BT now wins.
A higher monthly payment at £23 per month, which I think is more important here, despite it being cheaper overall as the cashback will be tied up in an Amazon voucher (unless we go for a cash payment) and the Sainsbury's voucher won't be that useful, although we could shop there just to use it I suppose.
The question is, would you go for a lower overall spend or a lower monthly spend?

I've gone for the BT, moving away from Plusnet. 12 month contract + a cheap PVR + Football + lower annual costs means a winner for me.0

Virgin broadband is way better than anything BT or Sky can offer. Way better.''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0
