Having considered this I've changed my position.
The SNP are great and I truly believe Scotland has a bright future as an independent country. The secret plans to turn Scotland into a world economic powerhouse are real and within 10 years rUK will be begging to join Scotland in a union with Nicola as head of state.
God I hate Westminster.
You've won. There's no need for a part two.0 -
Why would you want a currency union, surely that would give you the same sort of 'independence' that Greece enjoys - ie much less fiscal independence than you have now?
Quite simply because they are aware of how small we are and how poor we are, and depending on on how long they persist with this lunacy they will will prove how stupid we are.

Time for more SNP bashing. So much to choose from, how about another expenses scandal.

Shake did you follow Jamie Ross last night ?
I sat and watched the JC4PM unfold into the debacle it became, when I heard Sturgeon referring to it today in HR I couldn't help but laugh.
I spose in a way it was probably for the best we didn't get Indy last time, we really need to ensure any desire to remain in the union is killed stone dead ... that certainly seems to be happening now...
It's great watching it all unravel... although I still wish it had been YES... spose this is the next best thing0 -

Yes. Absolutely hilarious. For those confused it was a rally for Jeremy Corbyn for PM in Scotland. Here we go. It's about to begin. The stalls are about half full. The upper three tiers are almost empty.Jamie Ross â€@JamieRoss7 Mar 9 Jeremy Hardy says if he lived in Scotland he would vote for independence. Bound to help Scottish Labour's election effort.Jamie Ross â€@JamieRoss7 Mar 9 "I know it's a Labour event but I'm very impressed with the SNP," says Mark Steel in his opening line to the audience.Jamie Ross â€@JamieRoss7 Mar 9 Amazing. Overheard on the stairs: "Yeah that was pretty good wasn't it? I'm still voting SNP at the election though."
Question Time tonight was absolutely dire. The Yes city appears to have no Yes voters anymore, or actual Dundee residents come to that in the audience. Though there were two failed Labour candidates somehow managed to get their questions picked. Swinney didn't get a sentence out before Ruth or someone else was interrupting. Terrible viewing, I switched off.
Scotland Tonight was far better. King and Salmond got time to speak at least.
You're right about not winning but the unionist side now coming apart at the seams slowly but surely. Another Scottish referendum would have half the Tory party urging Scotland to go. English Labour not far behind either. Folks like Kevin Hague are talking amongst themselves these days re GERS while just 2 years ago he would've had his bum sat on every single politics show going, and a column in the Herald too. While not in the least media friendly Wings raises 45k in 24 hours towards another possible indy ref ( 65k now in 10 days ).
Strange times. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

I think you'll find that's for the Scottish posters here to decide. :cool:It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.

I`d be interested to know how you know where the various 'questioners' home addresses were. Unless the numerous contributors with English or in one case Welsh accents meant to you that they couldn't possibly be resident in Dundee of course.
Not surprised you switched off, the economic case the SNP made for independence was totally trashed. Not comfortable viewing for an unquestioning acolyte like you.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

I wondered how a properly moderated debate by someone who doesn't take poo from anyone would go down with the True Believers. Not well it would appear.
I listened to most of it at work (it's played on the Radio 5 Live internet site) while researching BT. It took me back to the old days!
I thought the discussion about Neverendums was very interesting especially the point that the outcome of the EU referendum changes nothing as everyone in Scotland did or should have known that it was coming up when they voted No.
Sheesh the SNP are a bunch of chancers. I'm looking forward to their comeuppance.0 -
An EU referendum was only promised by the tories. At that time it was an election pledge. They may well have lost so not quite true that we knew it would happen.0
