But McGarry has resigned the whip, which will lead to her automatic suspension. I'm growing a little tired to be honest of the knee jerk reaction to these trials by media. It seems all anyone in the SNP has to do in order to resign the whip is be 'linked' with something. I do think the SNP have to toughen up a bit. Most especially when facts and the basis of criminal offences are still to be as yet established. Once they are, a different story of course.

I agree
the SNP are undermining the principle of the presumption of innocence in scotland unless of course a clear conflict of interests.0 -

Why appoint a lawyer to simply to answer Police questions.
Take those RTG's off.
If I was SNP and in her position I would do the same ... the amount of twisting that people can do when it comes to the SNP defies so much human ability ... she's damn ed if she does and dammed if she doesn't .... might as well have some legal backing0 -
I do wonder though while Ruth was under investigation she didn't withdraw .... why is she so special ?0

most innocent citizens (whether SNP or not) don't engage a solicitor to talk the police.
but we need the facts0 -
These allegations are extremely serious and I hope the police can get a conclusion quickly.
I will be astounded if she is guilty of any wrongdoing. It beggars belief that she would put her career on the line and steal from an organisation she is a founder member of.
What I cannot understand is that accountants have no doubt been trying to get to the bottom of the missing money and have failed so what will the police be able to do that they cannot? I can only think have access to bank accounts that may leave a trail. Also it surely cannot be true that only Natalie had access to these funds. Surely any monies withdrawn or cheques written would need a counter signature.0 -
If I remember right Kezia was implicated in money going missing from the Labour coffers as well ( not positive though)
She didn't stand down either0 -
I hear this story is front page on all the Scottish tabloids today. It's interesting that the £10,000 missing from labours constituency office where Kezia is standing next year has had virtually no coverage. I googled it earlier and The Evening Times ran it but no mention from BBC that I could see.0

I totally agree they need to get to the bottom of it, wouldn't like to think she was guilty either as I watched her often during indy ref ... she seemed ok
Not on par with Lesley Riddoch, Jeanne Freeman or Phillipa Whitford ... but good0 -
