It is kinda funny that the Nats painted the Swastika the wrong way round though....
:rotfl:
Maybe Shakey could issue a 'paint by numbers' book for the SNP Youth Wing to take out at night?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

A question whilst you're on de-lurk mode. What do you mean by 'it starts again'?
Hi Generali
I meant the nastiness and <whispers> anti-English aka Westminster propaganda. The slogans, graffiti, divisive, sectarian and nationalist ranting. The snide, point-scoring comments. The inability to accept the huge fiscal black hole that would result in either cuts or raising taxes or borrowing as it can't be plugged with love and fresh air or even the combined smirks of Salmond, Sturgeon and Swinney.
It's interesting seeing it all go on as an outsider now. It's a world away from our everyday life.MumOf4Quit Date: 20th November 2009, 7pm

It seems that this approach to political debate is common amongst Nationalists in Scotland as well as everywhere else in the world:

The oil price halving isn't an 'internet meme', it makes the economic claims of the SNP to be ridiculous and FFA to be an idea which is deeply dangerous to all those who rely on the state for a large part of their income or consumption: the poor and the sick that the SNP claim to care for.0 -
Very poor form but unfortunately exactly the sort of thing that the SNP want to foment. Nationalists thrive in an atmosphere of hatred and division.
It's social democracy that's on the rise.. not racism. You're barking up the wrong tree. And you're insulting every SNP voter in Scotland by posting and re-posting drivel such as the above.
The only thing the SNP will be thriving at is at the ballot box in a few weeks. 20 or 50 MP's it'll be a huge win for them. Delude yourself if you must that the SNP who've been in power for 8 years now, have got there through any sort of hatred or division. They've got there by popular consent on their politics and policies. That and not being foolish enough to be dragged right-wards like Labour has.
On the other hand.. the folks Hamish likes to consider 'tactical voters' as in 'anyone but the SNP' are posting stuff like this on Twitter.. #SNPout are the Twitter arm of folks that Hamish cites as canvassing him, encouraging people to vote tactically for whoever is likely to bump an SNP candidate out. Charming people.. and very active, leafleting and such.
In short, you know very little about Scottish politics on the ground. And The Telegraph and Hamish's posts aren't always the best sources. Because while the painted Conservative door will be in the Telegraph and Hamish will exclaim breathlessly about it all.. ( as I see he has )... the above sort of stuff is NEVER reported, along with tweets about hanging Nicola, or similar. And will never appear in any mainstream newspaper or outlet. The above is okay is it ?
We've all accepted that's the way it is. It's not representative, nor balanced. But that's how things work these days it seems. Unfortunately that complete imbalance is what leads you and others to spout uninformed fawning 'oh you're so right Hamish' posts and extrapolate from them. It's just a shame you've been suckered in so badly. And lets's face it, when Hamish and similar have to start consulting 'tactical voting wheels' in order to decide where to place their votes in a few weeks.. because they can't vote how they usually do in case the SNP get in. There is something badly wrong somewhere. Imagine not voting for the party you want to based on their own merits but voting based on hate instead.
Personally, I think it's the SNP rise no-one expected after the ref. Some see the next vote as some sort of weird re-run of the referendum. Totally blinded by it and unable to let it go (#SNPout). I'm not sure why normally intelligent people would go down this route seeing it's a UK election.. but that's up to them. However foolish it is.. good luck with that.
The SNP is going forward into a UK election with policies that do NOT include another referendum. Just further powers.. as many as they can get/or offered for Scotland as well as an anti-Trident/austerity stance. If there's 'hatred and division' on those policies.. then it's coming from elsewhere. Do you see 'hatred and division' on those policies then ?
It does however seem that some hate the SNP enough to do and say anything at all though. It's what's normally known as... clutching at straws...and I ( personally ) would include tactical voting in that too. Foment on that.
ps. The tweet is of Humza Yousaf MSP at his birthday party tonight with his family. He's already been a target of the Scottish UKIP rep David Coburn. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-31927494It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Shame and negative publicity on 'The Yes Campaign', eh?
From the referendum that is supposed to be over, with the SNP respecting the result....
Do I detect a freudian slip?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

No, just ignorant disinterest.
I do respect the result. The union is now secure. The precise degree of autonomy to be generously gifted by WM to the grateful Holyrood parliament needs to be negotiated. It's escaped nobody's attention that the security of the constitutional permanence of the Scottish parliament hasn't quite been totally fully 100% finalised despite being the first part of the Vow.
Parliament's closed now IIRC, so how that's guaranteed to be delivered is a little bit baffling.
Not my problem of course. But something for voters north of the Tweed to ponder. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Probably the same people that are so cretinous as to believe Scotland could afford to pay for a socialist paradise, and that Scotland doesn't already have an even bigger budget deficit than the UK.
To paint a picture, the gap between the line below and the grey bars, is how much EXTRA Scotland would have had to borrow over and above the UK budget deficit each year, just to maintain the previous actual and currently planned levels of 'cuts'.
That's the money that Westminster subsidises us with, even after a geographic share of oil revenue.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
