Family Member in USA

Hi,

What's the best/cheapest way to talk to someone who is going to be in America for while (up to 90 days) Mobile to Mobile?

He is on o2 and I have a o2 and Three contracts, but I assume even buying international bundles is still quite expensive or is only to/from Landlines?

So am I better off getting sim from a company that does cheap international rates, or use a divert service like 1899 using my current providers?

Or any other suggestions?

Thanks.

No ....but if they have it they can call you as if they were over here using there inclusive minutes etc it won't help you calling them.
He can get a payg sim and add the feel at home package

    Thanks.

So it's Free for me to phone them in the US using my Three contract, regardless of what network they are on but they would have to be on Three to phone me Free?

I thought american 'cell' phones had regular numbers and some are linked to their home phone accounts (great idea).

Would a phone here be able to tell if the number over there was a mobile.

MY friends mobiles all look like landline numbers

I say forget the phone line and use the Viber App or Skype or wahtsapp or many other free internet calling tools

It's 'free' for you to call any UK number - whether it's in UK, US or in Japan.
In fact it's 'free' only if you have some allowance.
Also, generally it's not free for other party to receive the calls if they are abroad, but it's 'free' if they use Three's 'feel at home' in USA.
'Free' - because they have to pay for a bundle to benefit from 'feel at home'.
but they would have to be on Three to phone me Free?
    Again, it's 'free', not free.

If they get a US sim you can call them from your landline for as little as 4p+0.5/min that ultimately can be cheaper than 'free'.

Yes, get them a three PAYG top it up add a bundle and away you go, it will be just like using the phone as if they were in the UK using the allowances of the bundle
