* Get everything ready for the morning the night before including laying out all my son's clothes, making lunches, putting anything in my bag that I will need the following day.
* Letters from nursery are dealt with the evening they are received (slip signed, money got, note made in diary etc) and are returned to nursery the following day.

That made me smile superrhinos
That worked for me when my sons were younger
When they got older I used to find unreadable
Letters from school in the bottom of school bags
Just underneath wet football strips ect lol
Sorry pennies you said no chat”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

- I always wash up after eating a meal and clear up as I go by putting things back into cupboards as I'm cooking.
- I don't use a laundry basket any more and I put clothes straight into the washing machine. I find it saves time not moving clothes from one part of the house to the other.
- I put all the bathroom things like shower gel into a clear plastic tub and keep it in the airing cupboard and just get things out as I need it. My bathroom is tiny so this makes it look less cluttered.
- I regularly go through the fridge to check vegetables are still fresh and wipe down the surfaces with a cloth. The fridge is meant to be one of the most germy places in the house.
- I open letters in the kitchen and put any unneeded letters and envelopes straight into the bin or recycling.
I sound a little uptight.:rotfl:HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Not at all! handling stuff twice Is crazy
My dad used to say "see a job and do it"

Keeping on top of things is the way to go.

Fit those thin placemats you get in £1 shops
On the shelves- then you can give a quick wipe with dettol wipes or any green alternative
if you are deep cleaning your fridge you take them out and plunge them into hot soapy water while you declutter and clean fridge.
Make sure they are dry tho before putting back”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

After the kids are out to school I go around downstairs doing a quick tidy and putting anything to go upstairs into a box/laundry basket. Next time I need to go upstairs I take it with me and put everything away. Open all the windows to get the place aired. Then spend a few minutes upstairs picking up any bits that need to go downstairs. Quick clean and tidy in the bathroom and then take the stuff downstairs as I go.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

For each bed, fold all the relevant bedding into one pillowcase.
Storing towels rolled takes up less space.
Fold the matching pyjama top into the top of one leg of the pyjama bottoms.
Put extra bin liners at the very bottom of waste paper bins, so you always have a new one when you come to empty them.0 -
Just thought of some more:-
* I try and spend some time every day doing at least one non essential job. Even it is only 10 minutes.
* Declutter /have a place for everything - Less stuff makes having a tidier house easier. (This is still very much a work in progress for me).
* I separate out my to do list on location that tasks need to be done. Eg I have a laptop list so every time I get my laptop out it is easy to see what needs doing whilst I am on it.GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50

My favourite tip is attributable to Valli on the Flylady weekly thread:
Don't put it DOWN, put it AWAY.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
A squeegee for the shower tiles and door.
Your favourite essential oil on a cotton ball is put inside the hoover.
A lint roller on fabric lampshades and the sofa.
I dust cacti or awkward fiddly items with a clean paintbrush.:female: INFP :female:0 -
I come in from the school run every day and put everything down on the kitchen counter. I go through school things, put reading book on the stairs to take up. Clean out lunchbox and repack it then and there. Any birthday party invites go straight onto the notice board and I rsvp at the same time on my phone. I sort the mail, keeping all envelopes that can be reused for either writing on or mailing. I have a tub in the kitchen to keep them neat.
Once all school organisation is done I go through my handbag. Take out any reciepts & then put them on the stairs to take up and shred or file.
I often check my banking on my phone at the same time if I haven't already. After all the things that have come into the house have been checked I refill my water bottle and put that back in my bag for the next day.
This sounds a lot but takes me 30 mins a day whilst my son is happily chilling out after a long day at school. It makes me feel in control and means no clutter." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
