Is it worth updating our Sky Router for another (better) router?

As you can see the download speed is up massively. However, we are expecting 60MB+ shortly because the engineer told us "Just let it settle down for a few days and the speed should rise", which sounds strange as I thought a connection was a connection.
Let's hope we get that 60MB+ we've been promised.
Once again, thanks all.
Unfortunately, a "connection" is not just a connection !! The physical connection is, however the data flow is controlled by the Evil Dynamic Line Management system (which is software-controlled). If your sync speed 70-80meg, then you could expect 60+meg data speeds, and yes it will often take a few days for DLM to settle on your line.
Also, no provider can "promise" any rate, either on ADSL or on Fibre as it depends on too many variables. If 60+meg is your estimate, great, but it'll be once DLM has settled down.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
The whole speed thing is just a big con. Its a marketing gimmick. There is a world of difference between speed and throughput. I have sky ADSL for which i pay maybe a pound or two a month..essentially almost free. I packet sniffed my username and password to use my netgear router. It can easily hang on to a 6.5Mb downlink line. I am currently back on the sky white cube router and it is reporting a 7Mb line but i dont believe it.. On my line i run two laptops, two mobiles and a tv and it all works well..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Thanks Gunjack
I accept your explanation. It just seemed strange that a physical connection such as this needed to 'settle down'. I know absolutely nothing about this. I just assumed that it was the same as...once I plugged my lamp on it lights up immediately so I figured that once they connected us to the Fibre we'd get the whole shebang instantly.
Thank you0
