  • Just finished witing the rest of our invites a few minutes ago!

    Other than that, just (just!) got an evening caterer to book, rings to buy, furniture & linen hire, and we're DIY-ing most of it... so decorating the venue etc.

    You're probably far more organised than me!

    writing invites tomorrow - venue booked, but under new ownership so have to meet with new owners at 9am tomorrow to discuss plans!! and then cake lady at 11.30 - dressmaker has cut the pattern and beginning to sew, not been able to find a bridesmaid dress for 10 year old in the colour i want (purple). need legal permission to marry from registry office!! at least i have the next 2 weeks off i should be doing better by then.

    need to get the other half suit shopping and get him a ring (my ring was my nan's - so that is sorted) although i have got a job lot of ties in my colour scheme.

    i also need to pluck up courage to wear in wedding footwear!! dreading that.

    good luck all other April brides.

    Thank you for reminding me that I need to do this!

    I have my dress at home, 1st fitting is 1st March for myself and bridesmaid dresses.

    I need to give notice with the registrar (max 3 months before in Scotland) and have her sign a form so I can send to have my passport renewed into my married name.

    Need to order the cake (M&S cake can only order max 3 months in advance)

    Meeting with Photographer at venue end of Feb, also meeting DJ end of Feb.

    Have hair and makeup trial mid march on day of hen do.

    Just need to sit tight now and wait for the RSVPs to start rolling in! :j

    Ooooh, glad to see this thread - I thought I might be the only MSE bride in April!

    Wow - you are all very organised! We're getting hitched on 10th April and I know I am way behind. Had an eeeeeeeek moment last week so have made some progress this week. Still need to confirm the caterer, get wedding rings, sort make up & hair, get OHs suit and probably lots more. Haven't even thought about invites yet!

    We're doing lots of it ourselves.

  • I sent my invites 2nd class on Wednesday afternoon and I've already heard from close family and friends that they received theirs yesterday!

    I've have had a few RSVP emails for the evening reception already so hoping that the RSVPs for day come back in the post quick too!

    We are also doing ALOT ourselves! We had no package or anything with our venue so every little thing from stationery to centre pieces are being done ourselves.

    I've also still got car hire for Italy to book and villa balance to pay for our Honeymoon, we fly out 4 days after the wedding :)

    slowly getting there. all but one invitation posted - awaiting fiance to get in apparently he has now been emailed one of his friends new address. Giving notice to marry on Thursday. i have 2 cakes baking at the moment (we attend the church we are getting married in and intend to have put on afternoon tea and spend some time mingling with those from church who have come to the service - unfortunately far to many to invite to the reception) i have many more cakes to bake and freezer space to beg and borrow, but have just under 3 months, a few a week and we will be there.
    wedding cakes ordered and paid for - need a nice knife to cut cake as cake lady only does stand hire and not knives.
    new people at the reception venue lovely and have kept to the original price with the only increase being my mum ordering extra wine.
    worn the dreaded footwear for several hours today!!

    still need (purple) bridesmaid dress!! wedding ring and suit for him, craft ideas for kids craft table at reception (got 1 or 2) flowers for church (too early) need to order artificial bouquets - but have found what i want (i think). ivory ribbons for aforementioned footwear.

    must be loads i have forgotten - but i will get there.

  • We decided on Sunday that we were going to ask my friend if 2 of her girls wanted to be flower girls. We were waiting to see how our budget was going before we asked to make sure we could afford dresses, shoes etc.

    So now I have dresses, shoes etc to source!!!

    We've had a few RSVPs for day time back but not many and all from people that we knew were coming anyway!

    Should be able to order my cake in a few days :)
  • I actually feel like we're still unorganised.

    * Booked and paid venue, accommodation, food, drinks and reception.
    * Hired suits and bought dresses for bride and brides maids.
    * Sent out invitations.
    * Sent notice.
    * Arranged minister.

    We now need to decorate the venue and sort some stuff out for the kids.

    Picking up the wedding schedule could be fun though ...

    Two months today!!

    We got our flower girl dresses from Monsoon. Fairly cheap to be honest. £28/30 each
