My son has a astra

Looks like a full set of discs and pads are needed after a QuikFit service. They have quoted £200 but just seems a little steep to me. Cant at the moment call around some garages so thought i would quickly ask here what is a reasonable cost for the job.

Cheers

Now take it to a proper garage and ask them if it needs discs and pads.

My money's on them being absolutely fine. Surprised it doesn't 'need' shock absorbers, 4 new tyres and an exhaust as well.

TBF though, £200 seems a bit cheap for !!!!-Fit.

Just take a look at Quik Fit threads and then do as the previous poster suggests. Chances are none or only some of the discs/pads need changing.

Chuck the reg into eurocarparts or carparts4less and get an idea on parts price.

Without knowing the engine, it's had to tell as some of the Astras have different size discs and also lower ones may have drums.

Vauxhall site quotes £189 front or rear as a pre-discount price. But then who'd get such a simple job done at the dealers.

If it's the 1.8 it's about £90 in parts for the cheapest option on EuroCarParts.

£130 for the better quality stuff.

sorry mate its just the front 2 wheels, not the 4. Quikfit have charged £180 for full service plus tracking.

I know. My bad but im off work at momment sick and her lives in another county. sorry i know but i would rather 'trust' them than someone i didnt know such as back street garage. I always get our cars done in my town with my very good mech but this is quite important to get done asap.
