Premier Parking Logistics Private Parking Fine help please?

Hi,
I wonder if anyone could give me some advice please?
I've parked on a car park in birmingham tonight that belongs to a retail store. I parked at 9pm, the store was shut. There was a barrier up. I've parked there twice a week, every week for the last 18 months, when I go to a club I am a member of. There are normally about 15 cars on there, tonight there was only me.
When I got back at 10:20pm, I'd had a fine stuck to my window, from Premier Parking Logistics, for £100, or £85 if I pay within 14 days or I can appeal. They have printed my car reg & colour of my car on the fine & say that I can view picture of my car on their website before paying the fine if I wish.
I've had a read of some of the threads regarding similar situations, I'm unsure what the best thing to do is. Should I appeal? As then they will have all of my contact details, etc. I'm looking to act fast if I need to, but don't want to do the wrong thing,
Any advice appreciated please,
Thanks,
Rich

first thing you should do is stop calling it a fine, its a speculative invoice, no private company can "fine" you, so you have made that up
now please read the NEWBIES sticky thread above this thread, and follow the advice therein , its especially for people like yourself , including a flowchart too0 -
Many thanks for your reply.
I've read the flow chart, when I get to the step / section that says: "Is the PCN issued by either NCP, or a small company such as S.I.P, JAS, or P4Parking (aka nighthawke)", excuse my ignorance, but does that mean just those companies listed specifically in that step, or is the company I mentioned classed as a 'small company'. Apologies for my misunderstanding,
Thanks again,

that would be true IF they were in the BPA or the IPC, they are in neither, so cannot get your details, hence you would wait for an NTK, which wont arrive
the newbies thread actually says thisWhy wait for the postal NTK and why not admit who the driver was?
- Under POFA 2012 the registered keeper has a stronger set of appeal grounds than a driver.
- Another reason is if a PCN does not have the wording from Schedule 4 or if it's a 'byelaws' car park (e.g. Railway, Port, Quay, Airport) then the PPC can only pursue the driver, so by appealing as the keeper you keep that information anonymous.
- Some PPCs never send any letters; they are not allowed to get the DVLA data at all if they are not a member of an 'Accredited Trade Association' currently, either the BPA or IPC.
Victims who rush to appeal could be handing a scam artist their details on a plate and - almost as bad - pointlessly throwing away appeal grounds open to the keeper.
in the meantime, if you had googled their name or used our forum search box you would have found this recent thread like I did
have a read of it

Do not make any contact whatsoever with this company as that is the only way they can determine who you are and what your address might be. They have no opportunity of obtaining your details via the normal route of the DVLA as they are not members of any Accredited Trade Association.
And you have to ask the question - Why?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Many thanks for the very valuable (literally!) advice!! I'll sit on it for now.
Thanks again, much appreciated,

Come back in the highly unlikely event of you getting any correspondence from them to your home address. If you do, something very dodgy is afoot.
Just bask in the knowledge that this outfit doesn't know who you are, and you should be 'untouchable'.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
