I once had a problem with Ryanair and a debit card. As far as I remember you had to put in numbers with leading zeroes, ie 04 rather than 4, and if you did not do so the card was declined.
There was no error message saying that you had entered an "incorrect" format.

That is shocking you are having all these problems but am not surprised. I used to fly only Ryanair as I could go on holiday 3 times each year rather than just one with Portland Direct or Aspro.

But now with all their improvements and their TV ads, I feel like they are rubbish.

From Glasgow I can fly cheaper with JET2. Ryanair seem to get you in at 9.30 at night so you have lost a day of your holiday.

I kept trying to book a PALAMA to GLASGOW single on Sunday and pay with my Post Office Mastercard as I would get it cheaper and because I kept unticking the conversion box, I kept getting it declined. They wanted to convert it to GBP rather than EUR.

So to me, I won't go with them anytime soon. The fares are not that low anymore and I hate to admit I miss the old Ryanair where it was £30 for a return flight to Girona (Barcelona) but they got you on everything if you did not read their terms. Hope you get it sorted. Please let us know. :)

You can still do it for £40. Expecting to regularly get a return ticket for £30 is rather ridiculous given they're making a loss at £40 anyway!

still trying and still being declined. Spoken to their "helpline" twice today - all I can say is "oh dear". there is no problem with our website, your bank must have declined the payment. No they didn't in fact spoke to halifax and the payment request hadn't even reached them so that means a problem with website i would think. Use latest version of chrome - i am doing
Decided to bite the bullet and ring them to book on the phone - surprise due to volume of calls they couldn't deal with me and hung up - wonder if it's all the people who can't book on their website (that isn't broken)

I've been warning about this for yonks. MSE going on about protecting thickos who don't read T&Cs, without thought about the people who can comprehend how businesses work. :money::money:

I would happily pay £40 for a return flight to Spain. I don't see them any more. For 4 years I flew Glasgow Prestwick to Girona for a maximum of £30. Often it was £10 or £16 return.

Then they had a fall out with the incoming Government of Catalunya and the route was taken off. In its place we then got Alicante which was really cheap, maybe £40 return and then the price shot up after about 2 years as the airport operator would not allow them to use steps to board/disembark, they wanted the jet bridges instead.

Fast forward two years and their prices are nothing special. I hardly fly with them now. You said earlier they were making a loss selling at £40 but when I was flying regularly with them for less than £40 return, they still made bumper profits and the aircraft was full.

Probably all the other charges they stung on some meant there was anything but a loss on each flight. I am no expert though. Just an ex-passenger who misses the bargain flights! :)
