Tiscali email access after cancelation

Hello, just planning to cancel our broadband with tiscali and migrate to sky (for phone, tv & broadband) and i wondered how quickly tiscali shut down access to the email inbox (tiscali.co.uk one) after cancelling? Will access to my tiscali email end immediately or will it remain open? (or provisionally open and if so for how long?)

Hoping someone here will know as I already tried emailing their customer service and got a very patchy reply in broken english from someone who had clearly not understood what had been asked.

Thanks in advance.

I may be wrong, but surely the service would remain switched on until the notice period expires or the date you set for the cancellation is reached?

May be totally wrong, I'm wondering the same myself.

I still have access to my lineone.net e-mail addresses about 7 years since I last used them as an ISP.

And lineone was taken over by tiscali.

Not necessarily true that tiscali accounts are treated the same, though.

It probably depends if the same e-mail accounts are used for PAYG dial-up customers as for broadband customers. If the address doesn't mention broadband, it's more likely they'll leave it available for you.

You won't be able to send through it, but only receive.

We switched from tiscali to our new ISP about a month ago. As soon as the new ISP went live that's when our Tiscali account ceased, therefore no emails etc...
Thank you to everyone who posts comps! :A

I still receive mail via Tiscali from dialup days. Not logged onto Tiscali for at least 6 months.
    Move along, nothing to see.

Hm, I suppose I knew that as I've since done it when setting up my domain-based e-mail. But I'd never extrapolated the thought to my old lineone account. D'oh me!

I have a Tiscali dial up account which I haven't used for over 5 years and the pop email account is still active. Suggest you try and downgrade your broadband account to dial up if possible or try and register a dial up with the same name if and when they kill your email.

Same here, but with a different ISP that was eaten by Tiscali. I can send from it via webmail too.

And the same here, I check the mailbox occasionally, not that I want to use it, but once there was an email in there that I replied to via webmail with no problems, and it is five years since I left Tiscali dial up.

I phoned up to cancel my Tiscali connection sometime last week, the guy I spoke to said it would be cancelled straight away as I didn't want to migrate or anything and I had to provide him with another email address to send the confirmation to. I've not received anything and the account is still active. Will it still be active till the contract expires? The guy I spoke to definitely said it'd be cancelled straight away...
