igadgetsrecycled, scam?

Just a heads up about this company. They offer the best prices for phones on a lot of mobile recycling comparison sites but unfortunately it appears they don't actually pay out.

I was fished in and got a quote for my iPhone, sent it off and they confirmed it was received and agreed to pay the original price and then emailed me to tell me to leave a positive trustpilot review in order to receive my money.

I decided to wait and see if the cash turned up before doing this but unfortunately despite endless chasing and endless excuses from them they still haven't paid.

The positive trustpilot reviews are undoubtedly from the emails they send customers bribing them with promises of "fast payment" in return but as yet I don't think anyone has received anything.

I (along with many others) have reported them to Trading Standards (and Watchdog .. you never know!) and I'm now waiting for a couple of weeks after sending them an LBA to start court proceedings.

Just a heads up, January is a tight month financially and you don't want to end up being scammed.

You aren't alone in claiming that, a quick check of recent trustpilot reviews confirms. It does sound scam-like. Could you post the email here?

    .
I would certainly post the email on here (remove the personal details) and send a copy to Trustpilot.
To be honest though Trustpilot seem to be questionable over the years as to how they operate so never took any notice of the reviews myself.

igadgetsrecycled are part of E-Giant who sell the phones on Amazon and used to on Ebay although the Ebay pages don't seem to be there anymore.

Have you tried chasing payment through the director ?

I wouldn't be hanging about with it as experience with companies in the past show that when payments start drying up it's not long before they drop the company.
If igadgetsrecycled goes bankrupt you would lose your money even if E-giant were still around
It's not just about the money
