Morning all.
FurryBeastOz, I know exactly where you're coming from with the clingfilm and greaseproof rolls. I have two rolls of masking tape on the go and I won't ever have more than one in future and am really looking forward to finishing one of them up.
I was thinking of the hazard caused by multipacks and bogoffs. It's often easier to buy sellotape is 4-packs than single rolls, which sometimes causes waste as you end up with the unused ones getting lost or dying in storage.
I'm also annoyed at a decision which I made about 3 years ago. I went out to buy a ream of paper at the stationery shop and was heading tillwards when an assistant pointed out I could save by getting two at once. Can't remember what the exact saving was over two-together as opposed to two-separately but I think it was about £1.
 If it had been £5, it still wouldn't have been worth the aggravation of having to store that second ream (in line of sight) for the intervening period. I have only just started to use it last week. I will never ever pull that stunt again.
I am 3-5 minutes walk from several places which sell printer paper and they are open 7 days a week. Apart from the ream I am using, I will be allowing them to store my paper until I'm ready to use it.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Min's game day #26 (for yesterday)
26 pieces of coursework, from OH's diploma (with permission) In reality this is just over 2 box files but at this stage I can't just count it as 2
Min's game day # 27
6 further pieces of coursework
2 suitcases - i will take them to the chazzer tomorrow and ask if they want them. If not, they will get binned.
1 bathroom cabinet. we were hanging on to it JIC, but have decided it just won't fit the bill anywhere so it's going
1 x DS work experience diary from last year - he has now left the school and i don't think the diary adds anything
1 x DS progress folder from said High School - again doesn't add anything
1 x the final bottle of nail varnish
3 x half started tubes of spot treatment. DS uses something more powerful now.
TBC - we are going to do a tip run today so I think a few things will go...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
GQ I totally understand that. I am always tempted into buying 2 of something  as you may save a pound or 2. I have now stopped myself doing it as you are right on the (spare) one driving you mad.
I get so much joy out of using something up. I used up a shampoo at the gym the other day as was so pleased with myself. But I still have the rest of the matching conditioner to use up now  Which I hate I so wish they would sell half size bottles of conditioner so both bottles would be used at the same time.Unless I stick half a bottle on my head I am stuck with it for a while yet :rotfl:
Yep parcel tape is another one I have 2 on the go and have nearly used one upSo that will be a good day when thats used up and gone.;)
I also love using up cleaning products that I have purchased as I was suckered in by the new and improved adsAnd they are not new and improved but they are carp ! So now I have to use them up as its wasteful not too. But I am now only going to buy my tried and tested favorites and NOT buy anything else. and that is a promise as I do it time and time again
So that is my confession done for the day will move on and do something constructive
Mav x
But the good thing is at least we can find the parcel/masking tape where before KM we wouldnt have been able to find it and would buy another one making 3 x

I feel your multi - roll pain
I have put together several bundles of half started sellotape, parcel tape that has been scattered around the house.
I succumbed last year to a wrapping paper bonanza in Sainsbugs at bargain prices, but it has been spilling out of everywhere all year.
I will think twice in future.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
I just love finishing stuff up, rinsing and drip-drying the bottle then getting it out into the recycling bin. For some reason, I find this very emotionally satisfying, but I have a fair few foibles like that.
Hear what you say about the conditioners. My Liddly has been totally out of Cien everyday shampoo for about two weeks now. They sell the same brand conditioner in the same size bottles and seem to come boxed together. People have bought all the shampoo and they are left with lots of bottles of conditioner. I don't use conditioner myself as my hair is pretty short and doesn't benefit from it.
Am working my way through an overstock of some kinds of toiletries and am coming towards the end of a big tube of handcream, which means that there is only one big tube of handcream in reserve. Which will see me through into 2016, I should think.
It hasn't gone off but I do wonder how many toiletries die in storage without ever being used? Probably shock me if I thought about it.
OK, must make a flask and start to head out for the allotment session. Have been gardening for 8 days on the trot, just a bit of time every day, and can really see the changes. Such a shame will be back at work tomorrow, but them's the breaks.
VJsMum, I love a bargain and find them hard to resist, but it's very easy to buy too much, a lot of it is easily damaged and takes up space, and when you go to use it, it's crumpled and torn and not good enough to use. There's a lot to be said for having minimal supplies and using them up, isn't there?Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I am the opposite of that - I use around 3-4x as much conditioner as I do shampoo and would benefit from smaller shampoo bottles and huge conditioner ones. A standard bottle of conditioner only lasts me 4-5 hair washes as my hair is so thick, processed and long.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
I'm off out for some fun and exercise and get to pass on some items to a new home at the same time. I can't work out why I purchased multiples of the same thing - I think I've definitely started to shed my hoarding thinking!Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Re: bins. My block of 8 flats has 8 general rubbish bins and 2 blue wheelie bins for recycling and both types are collected weekly. No garden/food waste bins, which is a shame. The neighbouring authority I used to live in has them - though there are a lot more gardens there.
I'm pondering whether I need to buy masking tape - I'm painting my plant pots so they are all white and am considering adding a stripe of colour to match the various rooms they live in. The sellotape I have might be crap enough to use without ripping the primer off. I will experiment:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -

I have done that too. Box labelled sticky tape. Even DH managed to find it when he needed some. I think I am nearing the end of some now.I just love finishing stuff up, rinsing and drip-drying the bottle then getting it out into the recycling bin. I nearly posted on Wednesday about my 'beat the bin collection' game. Recycle day and the collection of cardboard and plastic is early. I emptied a facial wash tube and two large opened moisturizer containers that I felt had indeed died in storage. Decanted a shower gel into a hand wash bottle, and the last of the very large shampoo into another.
All washed and into the bin before 7.30.I am the opposite of that - I use around 3-4x as much conditioner as I do shampoo and would benefit from smaller shampoo bottles and huge conditioner ones. A standard bottle of conditioner only lasts me 4-5 hair washes as my hair is so thick, processed and long.
I also use far more conditioner than shampoo, partly because I don't subscribe to the 'rinse and repeat' instructions on the shampoo bottle, but use more conditioner on my very fine hair.
I will never again buy two ?1.5 litre bottles packaged together.0
