Today was laptop changeover day for work, so while the data was transferring I managed to build a unit to go on top of my desk - it holds the monitor, printer and headset docking station, and has two drawers. One drawer has printer paper in. The other has envelopes.

My desk is tidy for the first time in ages... although there is a pile of stuff to deal with. I'm hoping to spend a bit more time this week getting the office organised, to take my mind off the demolition going on upstairs where they are removing the bathroom.

Well, yesterday, it was dreadful, the rain came down in torrents, until the evening, so... I spent the whole day on the Internet! :DThe Boxroom of Doom was [STRIKE]ignored[/STRIKE] put back till today! :(

I've got my mojo back, but thought I'll just catch up with some more inspriation from here. BIIIIIG mistake! :(

Oh, the support is here and the endorphin rush from laughing, (thank you, Konverts!), but the number of posts!

I had first replied to DD1, with some subtle, happiness inspiration, which required high-order diplomacy! I've thought for sometime that she doesn't seem exactly happy, despite her marvellous career (which she loves), her wonderfully supportive husband (whom she also loves) and her luxurious life-style, which her success brings. We had such a brilliant day on Saturday, and she had commented on how amazingly happy I appeared. So... :) (Well, it's our job to offer 'wisdom' as Mums, as long as we live, isn't it?) :o

So, here I now am, with a list of comments, on the posts! ;)

VJsmum: Get her! :rotfl: You must have wool carpets! I have a couple that I bought s/h when I moved in here and a small swarm of carpet beetles (look like teeny ladybirds, brown with yellow spots) head for the windows when the first sun of spring comes out! But, this year there seems to be a plague of moths, so I'm expecting them to have kondoed some of my Stuff for me! :j

mav: Well done, iTwin, with konverting the 82 year-old friend. I'm sure she will be much happier living her new life, than suffocating in the old one! :D

missyrichards: My drawers are still tidy, but there are a couple of spaces where I removed tops for my outing on Saturday and planned to replace the items I'd taken out for choosing what to wear. Your post reminded me to do this. One of the tops that I had considered wearing had come out, (BN and never worn from years ago) but the moment I saw the sequins on the lacy neck, I had rejected it. So, it struck me, today, that I obviously, really don't like it! I'm not into bling-glam! That will be in the C Bag, as soon as I finish this post. Thank you! :T

greenbee: What have I started? After the 8 chairs in my living room (it's an ex-council house, for god's sake!) I counted up the rest and felt so guilty, that I wasn't going to mention it again!

Actually, I have a totally of 17 including 2 stools (with legs!)

I remember, back in the mists of time, in my childhood home, there were only 8 chairs, a 2-seater settee, piano stool and another stool! Oh, I've got the latter, in the Front Room of Doom! So, I have 3 stools. :rotfl:

Mother had a party every Christmas for friends and neighbours, and some had to bring their own chairs! :D

I think you probably live in a Village Hall, or run a Conference Centre! :rotfl:

clutterfree: Just hang onto your vision of how you want your home and life to be. Or, as mav said, maybe your mind hasn't yet caught up with what you've already achieved? Give yourself a little 'thinking' space. Maybe get your mojo going by a small kondo, with easy success? You can do it! ;)

maman: I get that with my knitting. Sometimes I can't wait, to finish a WIP and get on to what I have lined up, but at other times I can go, weeks/months trying get started on something else! :(

Yesterday, I started looking for a smocked dress pattern for a newborn on P1nterest and filled up my boards with all sorts of sewing, knitting, crochet, fashions, and Home Ideas! Brilliant day! :D

By the time I went to bed, I was itching to make baby clothes for GD1, (still comfy inside, till Nov), and things for me. Sadly, no room yet to get my sewing machine out, or reach my fabric stash. Great kondo motivation! :rotfl:

What about getting an early start for, shhh, Chr******? :D

PollyWollyDoodle: Your post reminded me of a friend. She was asking me about how to repair a round sisal (?) rug that had a taped binding. It had obviously been badly frayed somehow - it could've been a dog, and was a mess. IMHO, it would need re-binding and need stitching by hand (a home machine couldn't do it! Then she asked if I would 'like to do it'? As politely as I could, I said "NOoooooo!" That definitely would bring me no joy at all! :rotfl:

Katsu: What make is this 'one application' nail varnish, please?

It's years since I bought any. My 'I'm worth it' varnish, in 3 different places in the house, was very good for that, but it may have 'died in storage'. :rotfl:

Doubtless, more posts have been made, since I started this one, but they must wait till later! Right now I have to kondo an email to my solicitor, as the legal hassle (shhhh!) appears to nearing resolution. (How many times have I thought that, during the past 2 years? :o)

And then, the Boxroom of Doom is definitely having a visit today, with some Stuff going in the BIN - it's all ready identified and ear-marked! :j

I hope you are all having a happy day!

Mrs Moneypenny - Privett usually roots very easily so if a neighbour is cutting their hedge just get some trimmings to poke in the ground to root - if they take its a bonus if they don't you havn't lost anything! That's how my Mum got her hedge ;)

Oh thank you for that, she has a small variegated privet either end of the border thT gave me the idea of filling in with that and behind the garage there is a monster varigated privet bush that's higher than the garage, I did take the trimmer to it last week but there is plenty left to try some cuttings from.

    Hi.
Still finding it tough. I am getting rid of clutter, but it is my brain and emotions that need sorting rather than the carp.

Anyway, for those of us still going through the undies drawer, I found this excellent charity that needs bras and knickers for the third world:

    http://www.smallsforall.org/

I don't know if they have been mentioned on here before, but a bump won't hurt. It is very sad to know that so many girls and women cannot go to school full time, work properly, and even get harrassed, just for the lack of a pair of knickers.
Please donate your too big / too small / don't like the colour / no longer have the matching item / bra and pants.

Thanks guys, I'm going up now to have a look and maybe make a start, I think all the bin bags of the kids old school work, paintings etc (the eldest 2 are 23 and 21!) are fairly close together so that might be the first cull!

I have given my 3 kids (DS16, DD14 and DS10) their keepsake boxes to sort/look through. I think I can safely assume my daughter will not be a hoarder, she only kept 10 items, mercenary madam lol! Eldest son kept about a third, mainly medals and certificates, youngest son is pretending they're not there! :D

    to all newbies.

mavvymoo, what a sad story. Lovely of him to give you the clothes. Hope the cashmere jumpers will keep you warm this winter.

This is my first day off. Not doing much apart from having dusted half of the house. For a change I am dusting properly this time. When I moved everything from the window sill in the living room I found 2 candle holders behind the curtains, they are now sitting on the kitchen table for me to consider if I want to keep them or not.

The plan for the rest off the week is to go through my winter coats / jackets, deal with phone calls that have been on my to do list for ages and type up a letter that I should have done ages ago.

Mrsmoneypenny - was going to suggest that if you can find some variegated cuttings they look nicer IMO :) If the weather in your area is like it is here - persisting down - the cuttings will love it.

Oh don't you think they might purge stuff that they later regret.
