Welcome to all newbies! Still quite new myself on the thread, but am finally getting there, anyone else finding this really emotional? Not sure if it's the process or different things but seem to be constantly in tears! However, in the more positive moments the house is lookng much better, and the housework is becoming manageable:T
Having a couple of days to recover some equilibrium, then will keep going:)
    Any support greatly appreciated!

Yes, I am finding this a very emotional journey...painful. But in a good way.IFKWIM...!
It is the letting things go and encountering your past, sifting it through your hands...does it spark joy? regrets?
Keep going,,it is also a healing process...looking forward to a brighter future..
That's what I keep telling myself -it will be lovely when it is done!

    PPI Party Pooper Mortgage-free Glee!
Martin on the radio at lunchtime saying we should keep statements indefinitely. I'd kept all mine for years and years until last week. Now I feel stressed that I've destroyed them all. This has taken my MK joy away! I now feel stuck in limbo of not wanting to carry on and do more 'damage'. maybe I could find some non-financial paperwork to do. Wishing I had done that first now aaaaaaarghhhh.

    Hi Dusty
I managed to claim PPI for DH by returning the claim forms and writing 'not known' in all the boxes-had £2,800 back!
So not ALL past statements needed

I didn't keep all the paperwork either and got money back. I went through an agency though as I had over 20 credit cards/loans and didn't think I had PPI on any of them so got someone else to do the hard work. I got my credit report online and gave that to the agency for them to do all the hard work and got back nearly £2k

  • Anyone else drank the koolaid???! I think KM Method is a miracle!

I feel like konmondoing has given me the gift of time :T It's 11 am I've sent oh & lo off on their days with packed lunches, my house is perfectly tidy, I've done a load of washing, weeded the patio for 50 mins, been up into the loft to get the last of clothes that were stored there (and discovered a few items I had forgotten about and love :D) and brought down some papers, discovered a wicker shelving thing that I want to get rid of but will keep the little drawers for storing underwear, and have found 2 items to ebay/facebay - just a couple of quick clicks on the phone and then they're on!

Brilliant! Just having a coffee then going to have a long soak and read a book :j

PPI - dont worry if you have no paper work - we didnt. Between bank accounts CCs and mortgage we have had almost £10K back and we did it all ourselves so no paying a third party:) One bank sent us all our statements on request - over 15 years worth - each one in a separate envelope...............how silly is that!!

So Phase 1 of house project is now complete..............its what started the need for a serious declutter way back at the beginning of year. Now planning Phase 2 which will bring a whole new kondo session. Energy levels till a bit flat after latest spell in hospital but I am picking up. Back to work on Thursday but next week have a week off and plan some gentle declutter and a bit of gardening and researching/planning 'Phase 2' :)

Just sent DD3 off with 2 boxes of popcorn and a load of post that had come for her this week so that's a pile off the stairs.
Took some more knitted bits into work so that another couple of balls off the wool stash pile.
Extra hours at work have eaten into my kondoing time so don't feel I've achieved much.

Well done to everyone for what you a all achieving.

One car load safely delivered to chazzer - the light sabres have been claimed by a colleague but all else has gone :) some of DS things are in the "cooling off" period, but i don't think he'll change his mind.

The load to the chazzer included the flipping candle making set i've been agonising over for years - mum bought it me just before she died, i couldn't bring myself to do it and couldn't bring myself to get rid. but, with a "thanks mum - and sorry" i have, finally, let it go. Funny I was thinking aobut it in the car on the way home and I could hear her saying "don't give it another thought" - though i expect i will.

I found myself jetwashing a dolls house this morning - it's a funny old world ay' it?
I wanna be in the room where it happens
