No it is conjecture based on a very small sample that will always be weighted towards the dissatisfied compared to the satisfied!
The MBNA decision was not simply:
Does the customer carry balances and pay interest:
YES - Issue Reward Card
NO - Issue Non Rewards Card
Some who did not carry balances got the rewards card and some who paid interest got the non rewards card.
As I explained in my earlier post the decision will have been made by considering a number of factors, these factors are business sensitive so they are never going to say we didn't give you a rewards card because of a, b, c etc!0
